The Messiah 'Eesaa is Alive

The Messiah 'Eesaa is Alive

The Mesiah, may peace be upon him, was preserved and protected by Allah, he was not killed, nor was he crucified! It was a person who resembled him greatly who was crucified and killed. When his enemies from amongst the Jews harbored evil intentions towards him, Allah protected him from their plot and raised him to the heavens. He bestowed his likeness upon another man from the Hawaariyoon, so they captured that man and crucified him, believing that he was the Messiah, may peace be upon him. Allah the Elevated said concerning the Jews:

{Because of their breaking the covenant, their rejecting the Ayaat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah, their killing the Prophets unjustly, their saying: "Our hearts are wrapped (with coverings, i.e. we do not understand what the Messengers say)," – nay, Allah has set a seal upon their hearts because of their disbelief, so they believe not but a little.

And because of their disbelief and uttering against Maryam (Mary ['alayhas-salaam]) a grave false charge (that she has committed illegal sexual intercourse)

And because of their saying (in boast), "We killed the Messiah (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), the Messenger of Allah," – but they killed him not, nor did they crucify him, but it appeared so to them [the resemblance of ‘Eesa (Jesus) was put over another man], and those who differ therein are full of doubts. They have no (certain) knowledge, they follow nothing but conjecture. For surely, they killed him not.

But Allah raised him up to Himself. And Allah is Ever All-Powerful, All-Wise.

And there is none from the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) but must believe in him, [as only a Messenger of Allah and a human being] before his death. And on the Day of Resurrection, he ['Eesa (Jesus)] will be a witness against them.

Whoever contemplates over these Ayaat would know that their claim of killing and crucifying him is a lie. But they did intend to kill him and were determined to do so. They besieged him and those with him in a house, but Allah saved him from their plot, raised him to the heavens and made someone else from his companions look like him.

Contemplate over the Ayah:

{ but they killed him not, nor did they crucify him, but it appeared so to them

You will find that it is mentioned explicitly. The scholars of Tafseer, Hadeeth and history have all affirmed what I mentioned.

Ibn Katheer stated: Al Hasan al Basree and Muhammad ibn Ishaq stated:

“At the time of ‘Eesa ibn Maryam, there was a king named Dawud ibn Nooraa. When he heard of ‘Eesa, he ordered that he be killed and crucified. They besieged the house of al Miqdam where he was, on a Friday night. When they entered upon them, one of the people present in the house was made to look like ‘Eesa, and he was raised from that house to the heavens while those in the house were watching. So the guardsmen entered the house, they found the person who resembled ‘Eesa and captured him, thinking he was ’Eesa. They crucified him and placed thorns on his head to humiliate him. The majority of Christians, who did not witness the crucifixion, gave in to the account of the Jews, and due to this, they have clearly strayed. Allah the Elevated stated:

{And when Allah said: "O ‘Eesa (Jesus)! I will make you sleep and raise you to Myself, and clear you [of the forged statement that ‘Eesa (Jesus) is Allah's son] of those who disbelieve, and I will make those who follow you (monotheists, who worship none but Allah) superior to those who disbelieve [in the Oneness of Allah, or disbelieve in some of His Messengers, or in His Holy Books till the Day of Resurrection]. Then you will return to Me and I will judge between you in the matters in which you used to dispute."

So in these Ayaat, Allah promised him that he would raise him and purify him from the disbelievers, and Allah was true to His promise, indeed Allah does not break His promises.

The type of death that was mentioned in this Ayah is sleep, as was affirmed by many scholars - that sleep descended upon him when he was raised, and the word death is sometimes used to mean sleep, Allah said:

{It is Allah Who takes away the souls at the time of their death, and those that die not during their sleep. He keeps those (souls) for which He has ordained death and sends the rest for a term appointed. Verily, in this are signs for a people who think deeply.

Furthermore, what proves that he was raised to the heavens is that he will descend to Earth at the end of times and kill the Dajjaal. Ibn Katheer stated in his Tafseer:

{ And there is none of the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) but must believe in him [‘Eesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), before his death.

Meaning after he descends to Earth in the end of times, before the Hour, for indeed he descends, kills the pig, breaks the cross and abolishes the Jizyah, he will not accept any religion except Islam. All religions at that time will be one religion; the religion of Islam, al Hanafiyyah – the religion of Abraham. No one from amongst the Jews or the Christians would remain except that they would believe in him, it was also said that it is only the Jews. Al Hasan stated about this Ayah:

{And there is none of the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) but must believe in him [‘Eesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), before his death.

Before the death of ‘Eesa, for by Allah he is alive right now, with Allah.

Ibn Jareer, may Allah have mery upon him, was even clearer than this when explaining these Ayaat: ‘No one from amongst the People of the Book would remain after the decent of ‘Eesa except that he /she would believe in him before he – ‘Isa ‘alayhi as salaam – dies. He then brings Ahadeeth that prove this, such as the Hadeeth of Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, who said that the Messenger of Allah – صلى الله عليه وسلم – said:

“By the One whose Hands my life is in, soon the son of Maryam will descend upon you as a just judge; he will break the cross, kill the pig and demolish the Jizyah. Wealth will be so abundant to the point that no one would take it, to the point that prostrating to Allah would be more beloved to a person than anything on the face of the earth.”

It was narrated that he would descend at ‘al Manaarah al Baydaa’ east of Damascus. He would battle against the Dajjaal along with the victorious army of Islam. He will catch the Dajjaal at the Door of Lud and kill him. Majma’ ibn Haarithah, may Allah be pleased with him, said he heard the Messenger of Allah – صلى الله عليه وسلم - saying: “The son of Maryam will kill ad Dajaal by the door of Lud.”

Earth had thrown his body out

Earth had thrown his body out

Narrated Anas (RadiAllaahu Anhu):

There was a Christian who embraced Islam and read Surat-al-Baqara and Al-Imran, and he used to write (the revelations) for the Prophet. Later on he returned to Christianity again and he used to say: “Muhammad knows nothing but what I have written for him.” Then Allah caused him to die, and the people buried him, but in the morning they saw that the earth had thrown his body out. They said, “This is the act of Muhammad and his companions. They dug the grave of our companion and took his body out of it because he had run away from them.” They again dug the grave deeply for him, but in the morning they again saw that the earth had thrown his body out. They said, “This is an act of Muhammad and his companions. They dug the grave of our companion and threw his body outside it, for he had run away from them.” They dug the grave for him as deep as they could, but in the morning they again saw that the earth had thrown his body out. So they believed that what had befallen him was not done by human beings and had to leave him thrown (on the ground).

Celebrating Valentine’s

Celebrating Valentine’s

Questioner:

Celebrating Valentine’s Day has recently become widespread, especially amongst female students. It is a Christian celebration and they celebrate it by wearing completely red attire consisting of red clothing and red shoes, and by exchanging red flowers. We would like from your eminence a clarification of the ruling on celebrating these kinds of events. Also, what is your advice to the Muslims regarding these kinds of affairs? May Allāh preserve you and look after your affairs.

Shaykh Muḥammad ibn Ṣāliḥ al-ʿUthaimīn:

Celebrating Valentine’s Day is not permissible from a number of angles.

Firstly, it is an unorthodox celebration that has no basis in Islamic rules and customs.

Secondly, it encourages excessive passion and infatuation.

Thirdly, it encourages a person to preoccupy his heart with the likes of these lowly affairs that are in opposition to the guidance of the righteous predecessors, may Allāh be pleased with them.

So it is not permissible to initiate on this day anything symbolic of a celebration, whether it be supplying food, drink or clothing, exchanging gifts or anything else.

A Muslim must derive honour from his religion and not be a yes-man, who follows all and sundry. I ask Allāh the Most High that He protects the Muslims from all trials and tribulations, both apparent and hidden, and that He takes care of us by taking charge of our affairs and leading us to success.

Going to the church

Going to the church

From Aslam the servant of Umar, that Umar ibn al-Khattaab arrived in Shaam, a man from the Christians made food for him, so he said to Umar; I would love that you and you companions come to me and honor me (and he was a man from the nobles of Shaam) so Umar said to him:

"We do not enter your churches because of the images inside them."

[Shaikh al-Albaani  said: Reported by al-Bayhaqi with an authentic chain of narration as al-Haafidh said in al-Fath. ]

How could a Muslim celebrate Christmas and New Year’s? – By Shaykh Uthaymeen

How could a Muslim celebrate

Christmas and New Year’s?

Shaykh ibn Uthaymeen (rahimahullaah) :
Then what is worse than that; is some Muslims celebrate the New Year, and they glorify it and venerate it, and it is connected to the religious occasion of the Christians; which is; what? The birthday of the Messiah Eesa ibn Maryam peace be upon him. Thus celebrating New Year’s Eve, yes, in relation with the birth of the Messiah; this is rejoicing with their religious rites and practices. And rejoicing with kufr practices—if the person who is pleased with this is safe from disbelief—then it is as ibn Al Qayyim, may Allah have mercy upon him said in his book, ‘the ruling on the dhimmi’ it is more severe than being pleased with drinking alcohol and worshiping the cross.
Thus the affair is very dangerous O brothers. It is not permissible for the person to celebrate Christmas; if he is a Muslim. And it is not permissible for him to congratulate them for this holiday; if he is a Muslim. And it is not permissible for him to respond to this greeting if they congratulate him for this holiday; if he is a Muslim.
Subhan’Allah! Shall we congratulate them for a holiday which is considered as a religious practice? And is this anything other than being pleased with disbelief? But most of those who congratulate them do not intend to exalt their religion or practices, but rather they only intend what; to be courteous. And this is incorrect.
If someone says; I am courteous to them because they are courteous to me and they congratulate me for Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adha. We say: Alhamdulillah. If they congratulate you with Eid Al-Adha and Eid Al-Fitr, then they have congratulated you for legislated holiday, which Allah has made for His slaves. And it is mandatory for Eid Al-Adha and Eid Al-Fitr to be their holidays, because it is obligatory upon them to accept Islam. But if you congratulate them for Christmas then you are congratulating them for a holiday which Allah has not designated as a holiday.
Thus Christmas has no basis in history and it has no basis in the religious legislation. Eesa ibn Maryam did not command them to establish this holiday. Thus it is either that, which was entered into the religion of the Messiah as innovation and misguidance, or it was prescribed in the legislation of Eesa ibn Maryam but it has been abrogated by the legislation of Islam. Therefore it has no basis by any estimation. Because if we said it is from the innovation of the Christians and it is not from their legislation; then it is misguidance. And if we said it is from their legislation, then it has been abrogated; and to worship Allah with an abrogated religion is misguidance; thus it is misguidance by any estimation. And because it is misguidance, how is it befitting for me—while I am a Muslim—to congratulate them for it?!
And we have answered the issue of them congratulating us for our Eid and us not congratulating them for their holiday because our Eid has been legislated by Allah the Exalted; while their holiday is not legislated. This is because it has either been fabricated in their legislation or abrogated by our legislation.  Thus it has no basis in any regard.

Is Jesus God?

 Is Jesus God?

Jesus always expressed his subordination to his God and Creator.

Examples:

Did Nothing On His Own Authority:

[John 5:30] “I can of my own self do nothing, As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is just, because I do not seek My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.”

[John 14:31] “I do exactly as the Father commanded Me Get up, let us go from here.”

[Matthew 20:23] “ but to sit on My right hand and on My left is not Mine to give, but it is for those for whom it is prepared by My Father.”

Spoke Not On His Own Authority:

[John 8:28] “So Jesus said, “When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am the one I claim to be and that I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught me.”

Said That The Father Is Greater Than Him:

[John 14:28] “You heard me say, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.”

Was Tempted:

[Matthew 4:1] “Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil.”

But God can not be tempted:

[James 1:13] “When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone”

He Denied Knowledge Of The Unseen:

[Mark 13:32]“No-one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.”

[Matthew 24:36-38] “No-one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.”

He Was Circumcised, Imagine, God, Being Circumcised!

[Luke 2:21] “On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise him, he was named Jesus, the name the angel had given him before he had been conceived.”

Was Subject To Change:

[Luke 2:52] “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature.”

But God is Immutable.

[Malachi 3:6]“For I am the Lord, I do not change;

Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.

Did Not Accept To Be Called Good And Referred To God:

[Mark 10:18] “Why do you call me good? Jesus answered. No-one is good— except God alone.”

Prayed To God:

[Mark 14:32] “They went to a place called Gethsemane, and Jesus said to his disciples, “Sit here while I pray.”"

[Luke 5:16] “But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.”

[Matthew 26:39] “…and Jesus fell on his face and prayed.”

[Mark 14:35] “Going a little farther, he (jesus) fell to the ground and prayed that if possible the hour might pass from him.”

Ordered Everyone To Worship The One True Almighty God Alone:

[Matthew 4:10] “Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.”

[Deuteronomy 6:13] “Fear the LORD your God, serve him only and take your oaths in his name.”

Referred To Himself As A Prophet:

[Luke 13:33-34] “In any case, I must keep going today and tomorrow and the next day—for surely no prophet can die outside Jerusalem! “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you.”

Others Also Called Him A Prophet:

[Luke 7:16] “They were all filled with awe and praised God. “A great prophet has appeared among us,” they said.”

[Luke 24:17-22] “”About Jesus of Nazareth,” they replied. “He was a prophet, powerful in word and deed before God and all the people.”

[John 6:14] “After the people saw the miraculous sign that Jesus did, they began to say, “Surely this is the Prophet who is to come into the world.”"

Refered To As A Servant Of God:

[Acts 3:13] “The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His servant Jesus, the one whom you delivered”

[Acts 4:27] “For truly in this city there were gathered together against Your holy (A)servant Jesus.”

God Sent Jesus

[John 17:3] “This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.”

He Made A Distinction Between Himself And The Father:

[Matthew 23:9] “Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven.”

[John 12:26-28] “Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me. “Now my heart is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? No, it was for this very reason I came to this hour. Father, glorify your name!”"

Refered To Himself Frequently As Son Of Man

[Matthew 8:20] “Jesus said to him, “The foxes have holes and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no-where to lay His head.”"

[Matthew 12:32] “Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.”

[Matthew 12:40] “for just as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the sea monster (Whale), so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.”

[Matthew 17:9] “As they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, “Tell the vision to no one until the Son of Man has risen from the dead.”"

[John 6:27] “”Do not work for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you, for on Him the Father, God, has set His seal.”"

He Is Also Described As ‘A Man Approved By God’

[Acts 2:22] “Men of Israel, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man approved by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know.”

Similarities Between Islam & Christianity

Similarities Between Islam & Christianity

All Prophets Prayed Doing Sajda.
(Sajda is the act of prostrating oneself to Almighty God by putting ones forehead on the floor – As we Muslims do five times a day).
PROOF:
[Genasis 17:3]
“…and Abraham fell on his face and prayed.”
[Numbers 20:6] “…and Moses and Aaron fell on their faces and prayed.”
[Joshua 5:14] “…and Joshua fell on his face and prayed.”
By now, you’re probably thinking “But Jesus never done it” so I show you…
[Matthew 26:39] “…and Jesus fell on his face and prayed.”
[Mark 14:35] “Going a little farther, he (jesus) fell to the ground and prayed that if possible the hour might pass from him.”
Ands such has also been attested to in the Qur’aan:
[Soorah Maryam 19: 30-34] “He ['Iesa (Jesus)] said: Verily! I am a slave of Allah, He has given me the Scripture and made me a Prophet; And He has made me blessed wheresoever I be, and has enjoined on me Salat (prayer), and Zakat, as long as I live. And dutiful to my mother, and made me not arrogant, unblest. “And Salam (peace) be upon me the day I was born, and the day I die, and the day I shall be raised alive!” Such is ‘Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary). (it is) a statement of truth, about which they doubt (or dispute).”
Also:
[Soorah Bayyinah 98:5] “And they (the Jews and Christians) were commanded not, but that they should worship Allah, and worship none but Him Alone (abstaining from ascribing partners to Him), and perform As-Salat(Iqamat-as-Salat) and give Zakat: and that is the right religion.”
Jesus gives the Islamic greeting of “Assalaamu ‘alaykum”.
PROOF:
[Luke 24:36]
“Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, “Shalom alaikom (Peace be with you).”
All Praise is due to God Alone, for every bible in the bookshelf comes with the hebrew text aswell on this subject.
Jesus Was Circumcised.
PROOF:
[Luke 2:21]
“On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise him, he was named Jesus, the name the angel had given him before he had been conceived.”
Isaac, son of Abraham (Ishaaq Bin Ibraheem) Was Circumcised.
PROOF:
[Genasis 21:4]
“When his son Isaac was eight days old, Abraham circumcised him, as God commanded him.”
A Woman Should Wear A Hijab.
(The Hijab is a covering from the head worn to minimise the women’s beautiful attraction, hence lessening the chances of her being molested)
PROOF:
[1 Corinthians 11:5-7]
“But any woman who prays or prophesies with her head unveiled brings shame upon her head, for it is one and the same thing as if she had had her head shaved. For if a woman does not have her head veiled, she may as well have her hair cut off. But if it is shameful for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, then she should wear a veil.”
Lowering Your Gaze.
PROOF:
[Matthew 5:27-29]
Jesus says “You have heard that it was said to them of old: Thou shalt not commit adultery. But I say to you, that whosoever shall look on a woman to lust after her, hath already committed adultery with her in his heart.”
Don’t Wear Clothes Of The Oposite Sex.
PROOF:
[Deuteronomy 22:5]
“A woman shall not be clothed with man’s apparel, neither shall a man use woman’s apparel: for he that doth these things is abominable before God.”
No Drinking Of Alcohol!
PROOF:
[Proverbs 20:1]
“Wine is a luxurious thing, and drunkenness riotous: whosoever is delighted therewith, shall not be wise.”
[Ephesians 5:18] “be not drunk with wine, wherein is luxury.”
Don’t Eat Pigs.
PROOF:
[Deutronomy 14:8]
“The swine(pig) also, because it divideth the hoof, but cheweth not the cud, shall be unclean, their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall not touch.”
Don’t Make Pictures Of God.
(Unfortunatelly they love making pics of god and putting them up on their huge noticeboards outside the church. Tsk-tsk!)

PROOF:
[Deutronomy 5:7-9]
“Thou shalt not have strange gods in my sight. Thou shalt not make to thy self a graven thing, nor the likeness of any things, that are in heaven above, or that are in the earth beneath, or that abide in the waters under the earth. Thou shalt not adore them, and thou shalt not serve them.”
If a Christian is someone who follows the teaching of Jesus Christ, then us Muslims would like to say that we are more Christians than the Christians themselves!

Regarding the meat of Ahl-ul-Kitaab in the West – Shaykh ‘Abdullaah al-Bukhaaree

Regarding the meat of Ahl-ul-Kitaab in the West

 – Shaykh ‘Abdullaah al-Bukhaaree

Regarding the meat of Ahl-ul-Kitaab in the West

Shaykh ‘Abdullaah bin ‘Abdir-Raheem al-Bukhaaree

(this text has been translated to spanish)

Questioner:

Regarding the issue of the meat here (in France): searching for Halaal (lawful) meat was the thing that was widespread here between the Muslims. So they (some du’aat in France) found some fataawaa (religious verdicts) of Shaykh ibn Baaz and Shaykh al-’Uthaymeen, may Allaah have mercy upon all of them, wherein they said that the person should not search, rather the original ruling is that they are Ahl-ul-Kitaab (People of the Scripture, i.e. Jews and Christians) and their meat is permissible. So they use these fataawaa and say them to the people in general duroos (lessons) in front of the laymen, and this lead to problems between the people since they were convinced that the meat (of the disbelievers) is not Halaal at all in France. So they (those du’aat) literally said to them: “Go to the French restaurants and eat in them.”

Shaykh ‘Abdullaah al-Bukhaaree:

[They said it] unrestricted, just like that?!

Questioner:

Unrestricted! They even told them the name [of the restaurants]. Some of them said… Is McDonalds known to you?

Shaykh ‘Abdullaah al-Bukhaaree:

Yes, it is known.

Questioner:

They said it like this: “Go to McDonalds and eat in it.” Without restraint or anything…

Shaykh ‘Abdullaah al-Bukhaaree:

I seek refuge with Allaah from betrayal. This is from betrayal! The people are steadfast upon the Command of Allaah searching for Halaal, why do you turn them away [from this]?! This is from the lack of fiqh (understanding) and from recklessness in the understanding – we seek refuge with Allaah. The people are now searching for Halaal, far away from shubhah (doubt), and you come and weaken their determination by saying they shouldn’t search for Halaal and go to it [anymore]. So you made them abandon aiding the truth and adhering to it.

The second thing: the slaughtered meat of Ahl-ul-Kitaab is permissible. Eating it is permissible, not waajib (obligatory)!

The third thing, may Allaah bless you: this is when it is known that he is from Ahl-ul-Kitaab. Not when the Atheïsts, Buddhists, Majoos (fire worshippers), etc. are mixed with them (Ahl-ul-Kitaab). Are you able to determine that the owner of this shop is from Ahl-ul-Kitaab? You aren’t able! The fact that he is in France doesn’t mean [that he is from Ahl-ul-Kitaab]. Right? May Allaah bless you.

So here it is obligatory to be cautious! Cautiousness is obligatory here! When I know that someone is from Ahl-ul-Kitaab and I don’t know how he slaughtered, then there is no problem in eating his meat. If someone asked me: “But if I know that he is from Ahl-ul-Kitaab, and he didn’t slaughter according to the Sharee’ah (Islamic Legislation)?” Then it’s not permissible since he didn’t slaughter it in the first place, this is clear. If it was clearly electrocuted, then it’s not permissible to eat it. This is if it was a Muslim who did it, here in Makkah and al-Madeenah. When it is known that someone did not slaughter according to the Sharee’ah, then it’s not permissible to eat his meat, even if he is a Muslim – not from Ahl-ul-Kitaab. And even if it was next to al-Haram al-Makkee (The Meccan Sanctuary)! Why research things like this, while the people – and all praise is due to Allaah – want to search for their religion and that which makes them steadfast. This one comes and weakens their determination [by saying]: “Go and eat from this and that place.” It is feared that he has some shares in this place (so he invites the people to it)! We ask Allaah for safety.

The Importance of Being Truthful

The Importance of Being Truthful

One of the scholars from Kuwait, Shaikh Falah Isma'eel, recently relayed a heart-warming story that may interest you.

When Shaikh Isma'eel visited Holland, he was of course met by Muslims from Holland, and they told him, "if you had come two weeks ago, you would have seen it yourself. We prayed over this man [asking Allaah to have mercy on the deceased Muslim in what is called 'the funeral prayer'],"...and then they told him the following beautiful story.

[What follows is not verbatim, but a summary, with some explanations so as to clarify some terms that may be new to non-Muslims.]

He was a 26-year-old Christian from Holland. One day, he changed his dress to thobes, a burnoose, grew a beard, and the people started calling him "the one who looks like Jesus."

One day, he met some Muslims, and he said to them, "I love Jesus." And the Muslims told him, "We also love Jesus, and it is even a condition of Islam. We love Jesus and Moses."

So this man tried imitating Jesus, helping others when he could, cutting their lawns and the like. After two years, he entered the mosque [the Muslims' place of worship] for the first time, and he was greeted with "ahlan" [which means welcome, and thus was not greeted with the greeting reserved for Muslims "as-salaamu 'alaykum" (which means: may peace and safety be upon you on the Day of Judgement)].

He said, "no; I want to be a Muslim."

Then, the Muslims witnessed his testimony (pronounced "shahada") -  there is none deserving of worship except Allaah, and Muhammad is His servant and Messenger, and Jesus is His servant and Messenger - taught him the basics, and taught him how to pray. He began praying in congregation with them, not missing a single congregation. Then one day, he noticed that the other Muslims were arriving at the mosque after him, so he asked for a key to the mosque. And he was given one.

The Muslims then observed that not only was he opening the mosque, but additionally he was routinely found in optional prayer whenever they entered the mosque for the dawn prayer. [They would enter and find him already engaged in the worship of Allaah.]

Then one day, he told the Muslims how he decided to become Muslim. He said he had a dream about Jesus (the son of Mary), and Jesus said to him, "Be Muslim. Be Muslim. Be Muslim." He said, "I woke up, and a few days later, I had the same dream. This happened three times."

[The shaikh interjected and said, this is success from Allaah.]

So after having prayed for 20 days with the other Muslims, he died.

May Allaah have mercy on him.

This is the mercy of Allaah, and Allaah saved him [from dying upon other than Islam].

This is Sidq (truthfulness); he truthfully loved Jesus, so he became Muslim. Allaah guided him to become Muslim, because he was truthful in his love for Jesus.

If one is truthful in his love for Jesus and his following Jesus, then this should lead him to the true religion of Jesus (Islam) and should lead him to following whom Jesus commanded to be followed after him - Muhammad, the seal of all Prophets.

After all, the religion of all the Prophets was Islam, and their creed was the same, and their message was the same, and they confirmed each other. It is only the deviant who have distorted the message of the previous Prophets, and thus Allaah - from His infinite Mercy - has promised to preserve His last revelation (the Qur`an) from corruption so that those who truthfully want guidance may be guided.

One of the Reasons for the Destruction of the Jews

One of the Reasons for the Destruction of the Jews

The Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) said,

“Verily the children of Israaeel were destroyed when they started story telling”

Shaykh Al-albani said: Said (Ibn Kathir) in An-nihaya:
Meaning they relied upon speech and left off actions. So that was the reason for their destruction. Or vice versa; When they left off actions they were destroyed and then turned to story telling.
So I (Al-Albani) say:
It is possible to say that the reason for their destruction was the importance their preachers gave to story telling and tales and not to fiqh or beneficial knowledge through which people know their religion, what would have carried them towards righteous actions. So when they did that they were destroyed.
So this is the case of many of the story tellers of our era. Those whose speech revolves around Judeo-Christian traditions, heart softeners and sayings of the soofis. And Allah’s safety is sought.

But if I go, I will send him to you

Reference: As Sifaat al Ilaahiyyah : p.66
Author: Shaykhul Islaam Ibnul Qayyim
Topic: To non-Muslims

The Messiah’s statement: “But if I go, I will send him to you.”

What this means is, that I will send him by supplicating and requesting my Lord to send him, just as a person requests from a ruler to send a messenger, or to appoint someone a certain position, or to give someone something. He would then say; ‘I sent that person, or I appointed him such a position, or I gave him such a thing.’ Meaning I was the cause, for indeed if Allaah decrees a thing, He decrees causes for it as well, and amongst those causes is the supplication of some of His servants for something to take place. Amongst the blessings of this way, is that in addition to responding to the supplication of the servant, He brings to be what He had already decreed. And Muhammad’s forefather; the beloved Abraham – may the Salaat and Salaam be upon them both, supplicated for him to be sent before as well:
{ "Our Lord! Send amongst them a Messenger of their own who shall recite unto them Your Verses and instruct them in the Book (this Qur-aan) and al-Hikmah and purify them. Verily! You are the All-Mighty, the All-Wise." } [al Baqarah: 129]
[He supplicated with this] even though Allaah decreed Muhammad’s prophet-hood and mentioned his name before this supplication. Likewise it was said to Muhammad; “O Messenger of Allaah, when were you made our prophet?”
He responded:
“While Adam was between the stages of a soul and a body.”
He also said:
“Indeed I was decreed to be the last prohet by Allaah while Adam was still being created from earth.”
This is similar to the victory that Allaah decreed for him at the battle of Badr; from the causes of the victory was the Messenger’s supplication and imploration for victory. Likewise is what Allaah decrees from the sending of rain, He may make the supplication and imploration of His servants a cause for it, . Furthermore, He may make the cause for what He decrees in terms of forgiveness, mercy and guidance, the supplication of those who receive such bounties or others who supplicate for them.

So it is only logical that the Messiah asked His Lord to send his brother Muhammad as a messenger after he ascended to the heavens, and this would be one of the causes for his prophet-hood, in addition to his forefather Abraham’s supplication. Abraham however, asked Allaah to do so while he was still in the life of this world, and this is why it was mentioned by Allaah the Glorified, while the Messiah asked after he ascended to the heavens.
Also ponder over the statement of the Messiah:

“I will not leave you as orphans, but I will soon come to you.”

Just contemplate how this statement coincides with the statement of his brother Muhammad the son of ‘Abdullaah, may the Salaat and Salaam be upon them both:
“Indeed the son of Mary will descend upon you as a just judge and a fair leader. He will slaughter the pig, sever the cross and establish the Jizyah.”
He also requested his nation to convey to ‘Eesa (Jesus), the greeting of peace. He was also reported to have said:
“How could a people, who have me in the beginning and ‘Eesaa (Jesus) at the end, be destroyed?”

Greeting The Kuffaar On Their Festivals

Greeting The Kuffaar On Their Festivals

Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saalih al-Uthaymeen (Rahimahu ‘Llah)
Source: Majmoo’ah Fataawa wa Rasaa’il

Greeting the kuffaar on Christmas and other religious holidays of theirs is haraam (forbidden), by consensus, as Ibn al-Qayyim – (Rahimahu ‘Llah) – said,

“Congratulating the kuffaar on the rituals that belong only to them is haraam by consensus, as is congratulating them on their festivals and fasts by saying ‘A happy festival to you’ or ‘May you enjoy your festival,’ and so on. If the one who says this has been saved from kufr, it is still forbidden. It is like congratulating someone for prostrating to the cross, or even worse than that. It is as great a sin as congratulating someone for drinking wine, or murdering someone, or having illicit sexual relations, and so on. Many of those who have no respect for their religion fall into this error; they do not realize the offensiveness of their actions. Whoever congratulates a person for his disobedience or bid’ah or kufr exposes himself to the wrath and anger of Allaah” [Ahkaam Ahl al-Dhimmah]

Congratulating the kuffaar on their religious festivals is haraam to the extent described by Ibn al-Qayyim because it implies that one accepts or approves of their rituals of kufr, even if one would not accept those things for oneself. But the Muslim should not accept the rituals of kufr or congratulate anyone else for them, because Allaah does not accept any of that at all, as He says, “If you disbelieve, then verily, Allaah is not in need of you, He likes not disbelief for His slaves. And if you are grateful (by being believers), He is pleased therewith for you...” [Soorah az-Zumar 39:7]

“...This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islaam as your religion…” [Soorah al-Maa’idah 5:3]

So congratulating them is forbidden, whether they are one’s colleagues at work or otherwise.

If they greet us on the occasion of their festivals, we should not respond, because these are not our festivals, and because they are not festivals which are acceptable to Allaah. These festivals are innovations in their religions, and even those which may have been prescribed formerly have been abrogated by the religion of Islaam, with which Allaah sent Muhammad (sal-Allaahu ‘alayhe wa sallam) to the whole of mankind. Allaah says,
“Whoever seeks a religion other than Islaam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers.” [Soorah Aal ‘Imraan 3:85]

It is haraam for a Muslim to accept invitations on such occasions, because this is worse than congratulating them as it implies taking part in their celebrations.

Similarly, Muslims are forbidden to imitate the kuffaar by having parties on such occasions, or exchanging gifts, or giving out sweets or food, or taking time off work, etc., because the Prophet (sal-Allaahu ‘alayhe wa sallam) said, “Whoever imitates a people is one of them.” [Narrated by Abu Daawood in al-Libaas, hadeeth 3512]

Shaykh al-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah – (Rahimahu ‘Llah) – said,

“Imitating them in some of their festivals implies that one is pleased with their false beliefs and practices, and gives them the hope that they may have the opportunity to humiliate and mislead the weak.” [Iqtidaa’ al-Siraat al-Mustaqeem Mukhaalifat Ashaab al-Jaheem]

Whoever does anything of this sort is a sinner, whether he does it out of politeness or to be friendly, or because he is too shy to refuse, or for whatever other reason, because this is hypocrisy in Islaam, and because it makes the kuffaar feel proud of their religion.

Allaah is the One Whom we ask to make the Muslims feel proud of their religion, to help them adhere steadfastly to it, and to make them victorious over their enemies, for He is the Strong and Omnipotent.

Jews & Christians who hear of the Prophet yet don't believe

Jews & Christians who hear of

the Prophet yet don't believe

Question:

It is established from the Prophet (Sallaallaahu ‘alaihi wa ‘alaa aalihi wa sallam) that he said: ((there is no man from amongst the Jews nor from amongst the Christians who hears of me and does not believe in me except that the fire has precedence over him)), so do we understand from this hadeeth that with the mere acquaintance and hearing that the person will not be excused or is the understanding of the evidence to coincide with that?

Answer:

That which is apparent is that it is the mere coming to hear about him just as it is intended, ((no Jew and no Christian hears of me and does not believe in me except that he will enter the fire)) so we say: coming to hear about him is just as it is intended – so he does not hear it from the Christian or from the Jew who distort the image of the Prophet (Sallaallaahu ‘alaihi wa ‘alaa aalihi wa sallam), but rather the hearing of this should be from the aspect that the proofs can be established due to it, so one explains to them the affair of Allaahs Messenger (Sallaallaahu ‘alaihi wa ‘alaa aalihi wa sallam) with a sufficient explanation, and as for the hadeeth then it is reported by Muslim from the hadeeth of Aboo Hurairah radiyallaahu ‘anhu.
