REMEMBERING ALLĀH BEFORE SLEEPING AND UPON WAKING UP

 REMEMBERING ALLĀH BEFORE

 SLEEPING AND UPON WAKING UP

One should do his best to ensure that his last words before sleeping are remembrance of Allāh Most High and the first words that his tongue utters upon waking up are remembrance of Allāh Most High. These two are a sign of faith (imān).

A DINĀR YOU SPENT ON YOUR FAMILY

A DINĀR YOU SPENT ON YOUR FAMILY

One should only refrain from marriage if he fears that he might not be able to fulfill her rights. Bearing the burden of wife and children is like jihād in Allāh's path.

It occurs in the collection of Muslim that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:

"A dinār you spent in Allāh's path, a dinār you spent to free a slave, a dinār you gave as charity to a poor person, and a dinār you spent on your family- the best of them is the one you spent on your family." *

THOSE WHO ONLY MEMORISE THEIR GOOD DEEDS

THOSE WHO ONLY MEMORISE THEIR GOOD DEEDS

And of the people are those who actually think that their acts of obedience are more than their acts of disobedience, due to memorising their good deeds and not memorising their bad deeds. This is like one who seeks Allāh's forgiveness and praises Him a hundred times a day yet spends most of the day backbiting others. Such a person will look at the merits of tasbīh and istighfār yet will not look at the punishment for backbiting (ghība).

IF HE PARDONS, ALLĀH WILL GIVE HIM HONOUR

 IF HE PARDONS, ALLĀH

WILL GIVE HIM HONOUR

The Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) said:

“Allāh does not increase a servant due to [his] pardoning [of others] except in honour.” *

* Related by Muslim (no. 2588).

The honour he acquires due to pardoning [others] is more beloved and beneficial to him than the honour acquired through vengeance, for this is merely [the acquisition] of outward honour while inheriting humiliation inwardly. But pardoning [others] appears as humiliation outwardly whilst it is [in reality] honour both inwardly and outwardly.

EVEN IF THE SHAYTĀN INVITES YOU TO THE FIRE?

EVEN IF THE SHAYTĀN INVITES

YOU TO THE FIRE?

One's love for something makes him deaf and blind, and mankind is naturally disposed to love themselves, so they only see the good in themselves and the bad in their adversaries. This ignorance is often paired with desire and oppression, because mankind is naturally oppressive and ignorant.

Most of mankind's religions are only customs and traditions of beliefs and disbeliefs, love and hate, and allegiance and enmities taken from their fathers and predecessors. Just as He, the Most High, said:

{ وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱتَّبِعُوا۟ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ قَالُوا۟ بَلْ نَتَّبِعُ مَا وَجَدْنَا عَلَيْهِ ءَابَآءَنَآ أَوَلَوْ كَانَ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ يَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ عَذَابِ ٱلسَّعِيرِ }

And when it is said to them: "Follow that which Allah has sent down", they say: "Nay, we shall follow that which we found our fathers (following)."

(Would they do so) even if the Shaytān invites them to the torment of the Fire?

Perfection In A Wife?

Perfection In A Wife?

Shaykh Muhammad Ibn Al-Uthaymeen [D.1421 A.H.] [رحمه الله] said:

❝Indeed many husbands want their wives to be perfect. This matter is not possible, so due to that husbands fall into worry and concern and are incapable of enjoyment and delight with their wives, and perhaps this could lead to divorce.

Just like the Messenger [ﷺ] said:

«وإن ذهبت تقيمها كسرتها وكسرها طلاقها.»

'If you tried to straighten her you would break her, and breaking her is divorcing her.'

Therefore, it is necessary for the husband to be easy going and overlook everything that a wife does as long as it does not contradict the Deen or nobility.❞

SO WILL YOU SEEK REVENGE OR PARDON?

SO WILL YOU SEEK REVENGE OR PARDON?

As you deal with the people with their harm towards you, Allāh will deal with you and your sins. So, will you seek revenge or pardon? As you do to others, it will be done to you. You will be treated just like you treat the creation. Whoever ponders this will find it easy to do good towards those who harm him.

OPPRESSION

OPPRESSION

Kindness is only kindness when it does not involve doing a forbidden act or neglecting to do an obligatory one.

If a kindness involves abandoning justice, it becomes oppression. This is why showing favouritism towards some children above others and to some wives above others is forbidden even though it might be kindness towards the one being preferred and favoured, because it is an act of injustice.

Islaam & Following The Companions

Extravagance In The Home

 Extravagance In The Home

Shaykh Sālih Ibn ‘Abd Al-‘Azīz Āl Ash-Shaykh حفظه الله said:

“Likewise flaunting and showing off by overburdening oneself by purchasing furniture above their means; the believer has been prohibited from this because the intent is evil. But there is nothing wrong with furnishing and dressing up the home if it is done without extravagance and excess such as decorating the walls with prayer rugs, and using impermissible material such as silk and the like. And buying the most expensive furniture possible is from extravagance and excess. Balance is better in regards to everything, and everyone does in accordance to his means. And whoever takes the Salaf and their lives as an example, this is more complete.”

GUIDANCE (HIDĀYAH) IS FROM ALLĀH

 GUIDANCE (HIDĀYAH) IS FROM ALLĀH

You should know that the way to Allāh cannot be walked using feet but rather using hearts, and that the sudden impulse desires of the hearts are bandits and thieves. While the road you embark on is like a dark night.

Yet the eye of the one whom Allāh guides, is like the eye sight of the horse; thereby he's able to see in the dark just as clear as it can see in the daytime.

And sincerity (ikhlās) while embarking on the road is a beacon that directs to the right direction. Only those with insincere intentions will stumble in their walk, and those who refuse to be sincere are those whom Allāh does not select (for guidance).

Three things that Iblis and his troops rejoice about

Three things that Iblis

 and his troops rejoice about

When Iblis and his soldiers gather, they don’t rejoice for anything as much as three things:

A believer who kills a believer.

A man who dies upon kufr.

And a heart in which is fear of poverty.

PERHAPS THIS IS DUE TO MY OWN SINS

PERHAPS THIS IS DUE TO MY OWN SINS

When a person asks Allāh for something and does not receive an answer, he must surrender and say, 'Perhaps not answering my prayer is better, perhaps this is because of my sins, and perhaps delaying the response is better.'

And if he is unable to think of a reason for delaying the response to his prayer he must not conceal any displeasure or objection in his heart.

He should believe his prayer was a form of worship, so if Allāh answers his prayer then He has bestowed His bounty upon him. And if not, then the Owner does whatever He pleases.

When the victory returns to the disbelievers

When the victory returns to the disbelievers

 Shaikh’ul Islam Ibn Taymiyyah:

When the victory returns to the disbelievers, it’s because of the sins of the Muslims, their lack of faith, and their ignorance of tawhid.

But if they repent in perfecting their faith and in returning to authentic Sunnah, Allaah will ensure victory without the least of doubt!
