EVERY MUSLIM NEEDS A LIBRARY IN HIS HOME

EVERY MUSLIM NEEDS A LIBRARY

 IN HIS HOME

The reality is that every Muslim needs a library in his home, whether he reads or not. If he reads, then al-hamdulillāh. If he cannot read, then those who can read are many. If someone who can read visits him, then he can request for him to read to him from a book; or someone from his family will grow up to be a male or female reader and they may benefit.

WHEN TO PRAY WITR..

If a person asks, should I perform Witr before I sleep or in the last part of the night? We say: The Messenger clarified the ruling,

"Whosoever fears he will not awaken in the last part of the night then perform Witr in the first part, and whosoever hopes to wake up in the last part then perform Witr in the last part, since the prayer of the last part of the night is witnessed and that is better."*

MAKE A LOT OF DU'Ā'..

MAKE A LOT OF DU'Ā'..

The Muslim must say a lot of du'ā', both inside the prayer and outside the prayer. Du'ā' inside the prayer is more virtuous, especially while the person is prostrating. Verily, he is the closest to his Lord while he is prostrating.

The Prophet encouraged us to supplicate a lot while in sujūd because the du'ā' is most likely to be answered in this position.

Reading The Qur’aan At The Graveyard

Shaykh Muhammad Al-Uthaymeen [رحمه الله] said:

❝As for the graveyards then they are not a place for reading of the Qur’aan, but rather they are a place for giving Salam upon the dead and making Dua for them, not a place for making Dua, nor to make Dua to them.

So the deceased are not to be made Dua to, nor to make [general] Dua at their graveside. But rather Dua is made for them for mercy and forgiveness because they are in dire need of Dua.❞

FOCUS ON THE AFFAIRS OF THE MOMENT

FOCUS ON THE AFFAIRS

OF THE MOMENT

Grief (huzn) is usually over past events that you can neither bring back nor rectify. Anxiety (hamm) is usually fear and concern over what will come in the future. Therefore a person should concentrate his energy and attention in the betterment of his existing events, and his present moments. Focusing on the affairs of the moment is the necessary cause of them being accomplished, and is what gets rid of grief and anxiety from the heart.

THE GRATEFULNESS

OF THE SPECIAL ONES

Ibn al-Qayyim (رحمه الله) said,

"The gratefulness of the common-folk is for food, drink, clothing and bodily nourishments. The gratefulness of the special ones is for Tawhīd, faith (īmān) and the nourishment of the hearts.

And gratefulness is always accompanied by increase, due to His saying, the Exalted:

لَئِن شَكَرْتُمْ لَأَزِيدَنَّكُمْ

If you are grateful, I will grant you increase. (Ibrāhīm 14:7)

So when you do not see your condition in (a state of) increase, then turn to gratitude."

A True And Loyal Friend

A True And Loyal Friend

Shaykh Zayd Ibn Hādī Al-Madkhalī رحمه الله said:

"A true friend is one who helps his brother as much as he is able, even if it be just with a good and pleasant statement. And he advises him in regard to himself, and if he forgets (falls short) he reminds him in order to establish true friendship and especially in regard to the affairs of the religion and he presents good to him. All of this is from loyal friendship. As for the one who doesn't remind you when you forget (fall short in the religion), nor aids you when you are in need of him, then he has not fulfilled and established the rights of friendship, because he hasn't realised its worth or what loyalty entails.”
