Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaimīn [رحمه الله] said:

❝It is only right that a person be optimistic, feeling happy about the good he sees [in things]; and he should not look at the life lying ahead of him in this world as dark and dismal so that he becomes weary [of life] and loses hope.❞

 "...more severe..."


Shaykhul-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله stated:

"All (types of) lying on a person is prohibited, whether the person (being lied on) is a Muslim or a Kāfir. However, inventing a lie against the believer is more severe. Rather, all lying is prohibited."

‏قال شيخ الإسلام -رحمه الله- :

"فالكَذبُ على الشخص حَرام كلّه، سواءٌ كانَ الرجل مسلماً أو كافراً، براً أو فاجراً، لكن الافتِرَاء على المُؤمن أشدّ، بل الكَذِبُ كلّه حَرام".
