SHOW BENEVOLENCE TO THE CREATION

SHOW BENEVOLENCE TO THE CREATION

From the ways to achieve happiness is to show benevolence to the creation and to benefit them as much as possible with wealth, position, physical assistance and all forms of kindness. Indeed, the generous, kind person is the happiest of the people, the most cheerful of them and those with the happiest hearts.

Conversely, the stingy person, who lacks kindness, is the most miserable of the people, the one with the most depressing life and the one with the greatest sorrow and anxiety.

EASY FOR THE ONE FOR WHOM ALLĀH MAKES IT EASY

 EASY FOR THE ONE FOR

WHOM ALLĀH MAKES IT EASY

Imām al-Sā'dī (رحمه الله) wrote,

"For abandoning aiding one's own soul through speech or action is from the most difficult of affairs upon it.

And having patience upon harm, pardoning, forgiving and returning (harm) with benevolence is even harder.

However, it is easy for the one for whom Allāh makes it easy, and (for the one) who strives against his soul to acquire this quality and who seeks aid from Allāh upon that.

Then when the servant tastes the sweetness of that and finds its (positive) effects, he will adopt it with an open chest and will relish it."

THAT ONE MOMENT..

 THAT ONE MOMENT..

Al-Junayd, may Allāh have mercy on him, said,

"If a man worships Allāh for one thousand years, and then he turns away from Him for one moment, then what he missed in this moment is more than what he gained [in the one thousand years of worship]." *

* This athar was mentioned in Hilyatu'l-Auliyā' by Abū-Nu'aym (10/278).

The majority love to publicise their acts

Al-Imām ibn al-Jawzi [may Allāh bestow mercy upon him] said:

“How few are those who perform [righteous] deeds with sincere devotion for the Sake of Allāh, Exalted be He. The majority of mankind [instead] love to publicise their acts of worship.”

Jealousy is a disease

Shaykh ul-Islām ibn Taymiyyah [may Allāh have mercy on him] said:

“Jealousy is a disease from amongst the [many] diseases of the soul. It is a sickness which affects the majority and only a few people are free of it. This is why it was said: ‘No person is ever totally free of jealousy, but the wicked reveals it, while the noble conceals it.’”

Correctness of Reliance is Dependent

Shaykh ul Islaam Ibn al-Qayyim (d. 751A.H.) said:

‘The Correctness of Reliance upon Allaah is dependent upon the purity of Tawheed. Therefore, when a worshipper turns to other than Allaah, then his turning away causes a portion of his heart to turn away.’

Not Ready To Die But Not Ready To Be Righteous

Not Ready To Die But Not Ready To Be Righteous

Bilāl Ibn Sa’d [1] رحمه الله said:

“Slaves of the Most Merciful, it is said to one of us...

‘Would you like to die?’

So he responds, ‘No!’

It is said to him, ‘Why not?’

He responds, ‘Not until I do some good deeds.’

It is said to him, ‘Do good deeds.’

He responds, ‘I will do good deeds later.’

Therefore, he doesn’t want to die nor does he want to do good deeds. And the most beloved thing to him is for Allāh’s action (taking his soul) to be delayed, while he doesn’t love that Allāh delays giving him his good portion of the worldly life.”

[1] Bilaal ibn Sa’d may Allah have mercy upon him was an Imam from the second generation of Muslims. His father was a companion.

Do Not Grieve Over The Past

Do Not Grieve Over The Past

Shaykh AbduRahmaan As-Sa'adi [رحمه الله] said:

❝Do not grieve over past matters which have not been destined, from ill health, or loss of wealth or a worldly matter, etc.

Your concern should be with rectification of actions on the day.

Since a person is living in the moment. He should not be saddened for what has passed. Also he should not research into the future where that research would not be of any benefit.

It is upon you to be truthful, fulfill your contracts, keep to one's promises and justice in all dealings.

Fulfilling rights completely and perfectly with a tranquil soul and with truthful pure Eemaan.

Busy yourself with your own mistakes and your matters, rather than the mistakes of the people and their matters.

Deal with everyone according to their situation and condition, whether he is a senior, or youngster, male or female, a leader or a follower.

Be gentle and merciful to everyone even animals and livestock, since indeed Allaah is merciful to his merciful worshippers.

Be balanced in all your matters, and open up your mind to every religious and worldly benefit.❞

If the people of truth did not speak out

Shaykh ‘Abd Al-‘Azeez Ibn Bāz [رحمه الله] said:

❝If the people of truth did not speak out in clarification of the truth, then the people of error would remain upon their mistakes, others would blindly follow them in that, and the sin of withholding the truth would fall back on those who remained silent.❞

Look at the condition in which you are in

انظر إلى حالك الّذي أنت عليه إنْ كان يَصلح للموت والقبر فاستمر عليه، وإن كان لا يصلح لهذين فتُب إلى الله منها، وارجع إلى ما يصلح

Strive For The Ākhirah

Strive For The Ākhirah

Imām Ibn Al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

“There is no resting place for the worshippers except under the tree of Tūbā (a tree in Paradise), nor is there any permanency for those that love except on the Day of Increase. So depict to your heart the rest under the tree of Tūbā - it will lighten upon you the hardship, and envision the Day of Increase - it will facilitate for you whatever you endure on account of it.”
