The Difference Between Ar-Rahman and Ar-Raheem

The Difference Between Ar-Rahman and Ar-Raheem

Sheikh Muhammad ibn Salih Al Uthaymin said,

Ar-Rahman: The possessor of vast mercy.

Ar-Raheem: The granter of mercy to whomever He wills.

The difference between the two is that the first relates to the existence of mercy as a description for Him, whereas the second is related to it being an action of His, as He grants (or bestows) mercy to whomever He wills from His creation.

Sheikh Abdur Razzaq ibn Abdil Muhsin Al Abbad said,

Ar-Rahman: He to whom which mercy is a description.

Ar-Raheem: The doer of the action of being merciful to His servants, for this reason the Exalted says:

“And with the believers He is most merciful (رحيمًا) ” [Al-Ahzab: 43]

“..certainly He is to them full of Kindness, Most Merciful (رحيمٌ)” [At-Taubah: 117]

So Ar-Rahman is on a (certain) scale (in the Arabic language related to morphology) that indicates a permanent, inseparable, and perfect attribute. In other words; from His attributes is mercy. Whereas Ar-Raheem indicates the spreading of mercy to those whom it is bestowed upon. Meaning those who received mercy via (His) action.

The Emergence Of Time When Bid`ah Will Be Considered As Sunnah

The Emergence Of Time When Bid`ah Will
Be Considered As Sunnah

The Companion, Hudhaifah bin al-Yamaan رضي الله عنه once took two stones and placed one on top of the other and asked his companions: ❝Do you see any light (passing) between these two stones?❞

They said: “O Abu `Abdullaah! We don’t see any light (passing) between these two stones except for very little.”

He said: ❝By the One (Allaah) in whose Hand is my soul! Verily, Bid`ah (religious innovation) will (soon) appear till nothing of the truth is seen except for the amount of light which you see (passing) between these two stones. By Allaah! Bid`ah will circulate (so much) so that if something of it is left out, the people will say: The Sunnah had been abandoned.❞

Like a dumb Shaytan!

Like a dumb Shaytan!

Indeed, what kind of piety is there in a person who witnesses Allāh’s sanctities being violated, his religion abandoned, the Sunnah of His Messenger shunned, and yet remains still with a cold heart and a shut mouth? Such a person is like a dumb Shaytan!

The Worst of the Khawaarij

The Worst of the Khawaarij

Author: Imaam 'Abdullah Bin Muhammad Ad Da'eef
Translator: Abu 'Abdis Salaam Al Juyaanee
Source: The Masaail of Imaam Ahmad(rahimahullah) by Imaam Abu Dawud (rahimahullah) pg. 271

'Abdullah Bin Muhammad Ad Da'eef (rahimahullah) -one of the Imaams of the Salaf- said,

The Qa'ad (i.e. the Qa'adiyyah1) of the Khawaarij are the worst and most vile of the Khawaarij.
[Reported in the Masaail of Imaam Ahmad (rahimahullah) by Imaam Abu Dawud (rahimahullah) on pg. 271 with an authentic chain of narration.]

TN: The Qa'adiyyah are those from the Khawaarij who incite others to rebel, revolt, and commit acts of atrocity while they themselves do not take part in the actual fighting and/or “operations.” They are the worst of the Khawaarij because they are in fact the root and cause of these evil acts. Therefore, any "radical cleric" calling people to the methodology of the evil Khawaarij and inciting them to commit acts of terrorism is thus from the Qa'adiyyah and subsequently the worst of the Khawaarij.

Every Mother (Woman) Must Dedicate Herself

Every Mother (Woman) Must Dedicate Herself

“A woman, first and foremost, needs to be righteous herself, so that she can be a good example for her daughters…

A woman should train her children properly, for her children represent the men and women of the future. In the earliest stages of their development, it is the mothers that human beings learn from. If she is a good mother, good in her manners and dealings and good in the way she brings up her children, then those children will take after her and contribute positively to the betterment of society.

Every mother, then, must dedicate herself to training her children, and if she cannot undertake their training on her own, then their father or another guardian – for example, a brother or uncle, if their father is dead – should help her to raise them.

A woman should not yield to difficult circumstances, feeling that she cannot change her situation or her family’s situation for the better.”

Wearing a Coat Over the Jilbab

The Ruling on a Woman Wearing a Coat Over the Jilbab

Shaikh Salih al-Fawzan

Question: May Allah be good to you. I have another question: Is it allowed for a woman to wear a coat over the jilbab knowing that she will go out in a condition of necessity and severe cold?

Answer: “What is important is that a woman covers herself when leaving and cover herself completely. Nothing should be apparent from her by using any covering or clothing. What is important is that she covers herself. As for the details of the clothing, then this returns to the conditions of the women and to the need of the women. Nothing is prohibited except for the clothing which is for men. She does not wear the clothing of men. She only wears the clothing of women. The Prophet (ﷺ) said:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) cursed those men who are effeminate, and women who imitate men.
[Bukhari and Muslim]

So it is not allowed for one gender to resemble another. Everyone has a clothing. The men have their clothing and the women have their clothing. Yes”.

The Ruling on Having Oppositions and Evil in the Cell-phone

The Ruling on Having Oppositions and Evil in the Cell-phone

Shaikh Salih al-Fawzan

Question: This questioner says: some of the youth have cellphones and they fill it with oppositions and evils like songs, musical instruments, and prohibited pictures. So what is your guidance for the likes of these people? May Allah bless you

Answer: “If these people are older, then it is upon them to fear Allah and repent to Allah from this action. And that they purify their cellphones from these affairs, from these evil ideas, and this amusement and game. If they are young, then it is upon their guardians to protect them from it. [For the guardians to] prevent them from this harmful amusement and from this action which will harm them in the future”

The Ruling on Selling Imitation Goods

The Ruling on Selling Imitation Goods

Shaikh Salih al-Fawzan hafidhuhallah:

Question: He says oh Virtuous Shaikh (may Allah facilitate for you): what is the ruling on buying and selling imitation goods like watches, pens, and other than that?

Answer: “You notify regarding it. There is no preventative for you to sell it or buy it. However, inform that it is an imitation and not an original and that its price is cheaper than the price of the origin. As for those who cheat the people and sell it as if it is an original and take the price of the original and it is an imitation, then this is cheating. When the Prophet (ﷺ) said:

من غشنا فليس منا

Whoever cheats us is not one of us

[Saheeh Muslim]

If the buyer does not know, then clarify to him and so he see it as an imitation. So he does not take it thinking it was an original and pays a high price and [the seller] exploits his [the buyer’s] ignorance. This is not allowed. This is cheating”.

The Ruling On Throwing Food in the Garbage

The Ruling On Throwing Food in the Garbage Shaikh Ibn ul-‘Uthaymeen

Question: May Allah be good to you, what is the ruling on students throwing the remaining food and drink in the garbage?

Answer: “As for what is not going to be eaten, like orange, apple, banana peels, and what resembles that then there is no harm. This is because there is no need for it itself. As for food that can be eaten like remains of bread or sauce and what resembles that, then it is not thrown in the places of filth. If it must be thrown in the garbage, then place it in a special bag so that those who are cleaning know that it is something that deserves respect” .

An Easy Way to Keep Devils Out of Your House by Reciting Two Blessed, Ancient Verses

An Easy Way to Keep Devils Out of Your

House by Reciting Two Blessed, Ancient Verses

An-Nu’maan ibn Bashir narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said, “Indeed Allaah wrote a Book two thousand years before He created the heavens and the earth, He sent down two aayahs from it with which He ended Surah al-Baqarah—if they are recited for three nights in a home, no Shaitaan shall come near it.”

Saheeh at-Targheeb, no. 1476, al-Albaani said, “Saheeh.” [Translation taken from English translation of Al-Tirmidhi, slightly edited.]

The two verses are:

‘Āmanar-Rasūlu bimā ‘unzila ‘ilayhi mir-rabbihi wal-Mu’uminūna ۚ kullun ‘Āmana billāhi wa Malā’ikatihi wa Kutubihi wa Rusulihi Lā nufarriqu baina ‘aĥadin mir-Rusulihi ۚ wa qālū sami`nā wa ‘Aţa`nā ۖ  Ghufrānaka Rabbanā wa ‘ilaikal-Maşīr.

“The Messenger believes in what has been sent down to him from his Lord, and (so do) the believers. Each one believes in Allaah, His Angels, His Books, and His Messengers. They say, “We make no distinction between one another of His Messengers.” And they say, “We hear, and we obey. (We seek) Your Forgiveness, Our Lord, and to You is the return (of all).””

Lā yukallifullāhu nafsan ‘illā wus`ahā ۚ Lahā mā kasabat wa `alaihā maktasabat ۗ
Rabbanā lā tu’uākhidhnā ‘in-nasīnā ‘aw ‘akhţa’nā ۚ
Rabbanā wa lā taĥmil `alainā ‘işran kamā ĥamaltahu `alalladhīna min qablinā ۚ
Rabbanā wa lā tuĥammilnā mā lā ţāqata lanā bihi ۖ
Wa`fu `annā waghfir lanā warĥamnā ۚ ‘Anta mawlānā fānşurnā `alal-qawmil-kāfirīn.

“Allaah burdens not a person beyond his scope. He gets reward for that (good) which he has earned, and he is punished for that (evil) which he has earned. “Our Lord! Punish us not if we forget or fall into error. Our Lord! Lay not on us a burden like that which You did lay on those before us. Our Lord! Put not on us a burden greater than we have strength to bear. Pardon us and grant us Forgiveness. Have mercy on us. You are our Protector! And give us victory over the disbelieving people.””

The Ruling on Having a Dog

The Ruling on Having a Dog

Author: Imaam Bin Baaz
Translator: Abu 'Abdis Salaam Al Juyaanee
Source: http://www.binbaz.org.sa/node/9270

It is not permissible to raise/keep a dog except for three (reasons): a hunting dog, a guard dog for herding livestock (and or protecting something) or a dog for farming, the Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) said,

Whoever keeps a dog that is not a dog for hunting, herding livestock or farming, two qiraats will be deducted from his reward each day.
This is because keeping a dog is a means to filth, dirtying and harming the house due to it (i.e. the dog). The Prophet (ﷺ) ordered that a dish that is licked by a dog be washed seven times, one of which with dirt. So it is a must to stay away from this. Thus, staying away (from this affair is a must) except for the need of hunting, farming and guarding or herding livestock (or something valuable). As far as having them for other than these reason(s), is blind following and imitation of the Christians. So this is not permissible.
