Don't Follow Blindly
Don't Follow Blindly
’Abdullaah Ibn Mas’ood (radiyallaahu ’anhumaa) said,
“Let not one of you blindly follow a man in his Religion, if he believes, he believes, and if he disbelieves, he disbelieves. If it is a must that you follow someone then let it be the dead, for indeed the living is not safe from fitnah.”

al-Hassan Al Basri On Dunia ( Worldy Life)
al-Hassan Al Basri On Dunia
( Worldy Life)
Imam al-Hassan Al Basri said:
“We laugh and yet – who knows? – perhaps Allah has looked at some of our works and said: “I will not accept anything from you.” Woe to you, son of Adam! Can you fight Allah? Whoever disobeys Allah is fighting Him. By Allah! I have met seventy veterans of Badr. Most of their garments were wool. Had you seen them you would have said they are crazy, and had they seen the best among you they would have said: “Those people will have no part in the Hereafter.” Had they seen the worst among you they would have said: “Those people do not believe in the Day of Reckoning.” I have seen people for whom this world was cheaper than the dust under their feet. I have seen people the like of whom would come home at night, not finding more than his own portion of food, and yet say: “I shall not put all of this into my belly. I shall certainly give some away for Allah’s sake.” Then he would give away some of his food in charity, even if he were more in need of it than its recipient.”

Better Say: 'I don't know' ..
Better Say: 'I don't know' ..
Imaam Maalik Ibn Anas (d.179H) – rahimahullaah – said:
“The shield of the scholar is saying, ‘I do not know.’ So if he forgets it, then his enemies strike him!” [Hilyatul-Awliyaa 6/323]
Al-Haytham Ibn Jameel said:
“I heard Maalik being asked about forty-eight questions, he replied to thirty-two of them saying, ‘I do not know.’”
’Abdur-Rahmaan Ibn Mahdee (d.198H) – rahimahullaah – said:
“[I]We were with Maalik Ibn Anas when a man came saying, ‘O Abaa ’Abdullaah, I have traveled a distance of six months. The people of my land sent me to ask you about a matter.’ So he said, ‘Ask!’ So the man asked him some things, so he replied, ‘I do not know.’ – and the man thought he had come to someone who knew everything, so he said, ‘What shall I tell the people of my land when I return to them?’ He said, ‘Say to them, Maalik Ibn Anas does not know.’”
Several of the Salaf, including Abu Al-Dardaa’ :anhu:, were quoted to have said: It is half of knowledge to say “I do not know”. (Siyar A’lam Al-Nubalaa’ by Imam Thahabi 8/77)

The Qur'an Will Be Taken Away..
Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (radiallaho anho) said: "Surely the Qur’an will be taken away from amongst you, taken away in one night so it will be removed from the hearts of Men such that there shall remain nothing of it on the earth." (al-Tabarani and Ibn Hajr said: Its chain is authentic but it’s mawqoof Fath al-Bari 13/16)
Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahu Allah) said: "It will be lifted near the End of Time, removed from the Pages so there’ll be neither a word left in the hearts nor a letter left in the Books." (Majmoo Fatawa 3/198-199)

Taghut is anything in which a servant exceeds the limits whether it is worship, following, or obedience
Taghut is anything in which a servant exceeds the limits whether it is worship, following, or obedience
Fifth question of Fatwa No. 5966
Q 5: When can we single someone out as Taghut?
A: Someone can be declared as Taghut (false god) in case that they call to Shirk (associating others in worship with Allah), to offer `Ibadah (worship) to them, claim knowing matters of Ghayb (Unseen), or judge according to anything other than what Allah has revealed and the like. Ibn Al-Qayyim (may Allah be merciful with him) said: Taghut is anything in which a servant exceeds the limits whether in the field of `Ibadah, following, or obedience.
May Allah grant us success! May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions!

Ibn Taymiyyah on those who claim to posses fiqh
Ibn Taymiyyah on those who claim to posses fiqh
"...And there is another group, a people who do not know the 'aqeedah of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamaa'ah as is obligated, or they know some it and are ignorant of some of it. And that which they know of it, they conceal and do not clarify it to the people, and they do not forbid from innovations nor do they censure [or critise] and punish the people of bid'ah.
Rather, they may censure [or criticise] the speech concerning the Sunnah and the foundations of the Religion absolutely.
Indeed they do not differentiate between the saying of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamaa'ah and the saying of Ahlul-Bid'ah wal-Furqah, or they condone everyone upon their various differing Madhhabs, just as the 'Ulamah accept the positions of Ijtihaad which are allowable in the matters of differing.
And this is the condition of many amongst the Murji'ah, some of those [who claim to] possess fiqh, the Soofees and the the Philosophers."

Life is a Journey
Life is a Journey
From the very moment of creation, mankind is on a journey. He is a traveller and is not allowed to halt except when he reaches either Paradise or Hell-Fire.
The wise one among them is the one who knows that travelling is based on hardships and danger. It is usually hard to seek pleasures and relief during it which are to be acquired after it is complete.
Every footstep and every moan made during the journey will not stop him.
It is proven that the traveller is preparing supplies, which will take him to his final end. And if he halts, sleeps or rests, he is doing so while preparing himself to complete his journey.

The Beauty of avoiding Riya'a
The Beauty of avoiding Riya'a
Muhammad ibn Al-Qaasim said:
I accompanied Muhammad ibn Aslam for more than 20 years, and I never saw him pray two supererogatory rak’ahs, except on the day of jum’ah. On one occasion, I heard him take an oath: “By Allaah If I was able to pray a supererogatory prayer where my two angels could not see me; I would do so out of fear of showing off. He used to enter his house and close his door. I was never aware of what he would get up to until I heard his young son conversing how he used to cry. However, when he used to go outside, he would wash his face and apply kuhl, and no sign of him crying would be visible. He used to provide for a people and clothe them, but when he would send his Messenger, he used to say: Make sure they don’t know who sent you.

3 Benefits From Sufyaan Ath-Thauree (rahimahullaah)
3 Benefits From Sufyaan Ath-Thauree (rahimahullaah)
1.) Khalf ibn Tameem reported that he heard Sufyaan say, "the vision of one's eyes is meant for this world, and the vision of one's heart is meant for the Hereafter. When a man looks with his eyes, he benefits naught. it is when he looks with his heart that he benefits.
2.)`Abdur Rahmaan ibn `Aabdullah al-Basree reported that a man said to Sufyaan, "Advise me." Sufyaan said, "Work for this world in proportion to the time you will stay in it (which does not amount to many years). And work for the Hereafter in proportion to the time you will stay in it (for eternity) -and peace (be upon you).
3.) Yousuf ibn Asbaat reported that he heard Sufyaan Ath-Thauree say, "The following three are from patience: Do not speak about a calamity that has befallen you; do not speak about your pain; and do not praise yourself."

Whomsoever has three things has his Emaan completed
Whomsoever has three things has his Emaan completed
Muhammad Ibn Ka'ab said to Umar Ibn Abdil 'Azeez:
Three things that whomsoever has it his Imaan in Allah is complete:
- If he is pleased his pleasure is not in falsehood.
- If he is angry his anger does not divert him from the truth
- If he wishes to do something he does not take what is not his in order to do it.

Imaam Ibnul-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah on Pointing above to Allaah
Imaam Ibnul-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah
Shaykhul-Islaam was-Sunnah, Shamsudeen ibn Al-Qayyim said: They claim that it is not permissible to point above to Allaah ÓÈÍÇäå with one’s fingers, for this necessitates restricting (Allaah to a place). However, the Muslims have unanimously agreed that Allaah is the most high, for this is something clearly stated in the Qur’aan. However, they claim that His highness is that of authority and not that of physical being (dhaat). But For the Muslims Allaah possesses all aspects of highness – physical and authoritative, for it is a praiseworthy attribute. Thus, we affirm that Allaah has the highness of essence and the highness of authority.
Thus, their prohibition of pointing above to Allaah contradicts all the religions, for the majority of Muslims, and the (people of the) other religious paths, have unanimously agreed that when we make du’aa to Allaah we should do so by facing in the direction of above, and their unanimity regarding this is considered a hujjah (valid proof). None of them have ever said that it is permissible to point/face towards the ground, or any other direction except that of above. He states, “They fear their Lord above them.” (Sooratun--Nahl: 50), “To Him ascend (all) the goodly words.” (Soorah Faatir: 10), “The angels and the Ruh (Jibraeel) ascend to Him.” (Sooratul-Ma’arij: 4)
He, Ta'ala, stated that Fir’awn said, “O Hamaan! Build me a tower that I may attain the means of access, the means of access to the heavens, then reach ilaah (god) of Musa.” (Sooratul--Ghaafir: 36-37).
Hence, Fir’awn understood from Moosaa ('alayhi salaam) that there is an ilaah above the heavens, for Moosaa used to affirm this; so much so that he wanted to build a tower to see Him, and he accused Moosaa of being a liar concerning this. And the jahmiyyah do not admit that Allaah is above the heavens, thus they more incompetent in understanding than Fir’awn. (Ijtimaa’al-Juyushal-Islaamiyyah: 136-137)

On Ascription to the Salaf
Statements from the Salaf on Ascription to the Salaf
Article ID : SLF010001
Imaam al-Asbahaanee (d.535H) - rahimahullaah - said: "The sign of Ahlus-Sunnah is that they follow the Salafus-Saalih and abandon all that is innovated and newly introduced into the Deen." [Al-Hujjah fee Bayaanil Mahajjah 1/364]
Abu Haneefah (d. 150H) (rahimahullaah) said: "Adhere to the athar (narration) and the tareeqah (way) of the Salaf (Pious Predecessors) and beware of newly invented matters for all of it is innovation" [Reported by As-Suyootee in Sawn al Mantaq wal-Kalaam p.32]
lbn Taymiyyah (d.728H) - rahimahullaah - said: "There is no criticism for the one who proclaims the way (madhdhab) of the Salaf, who attaches himself to it and refers to it. Rather, it is obligatory to accept that from him by unanimous agreement (Ittifaaq) because the way (madhdhab) of the Salaf is nothing but the Truth (Haqq)." [Majmoo al-Fataawaa 4:149]
Imaam adh-Dhahabee (d.748H) - rahimahullaah - said: "It is authentically related from ad-Daaraqutnee that he said: There is nothing more despised by me than 'ilmul-kalaam (innovated speech and rhetorics). I say: He never entered into 'ilmul-kalaam, nor argumentation. Rather, was a Salafee (a follower of the Salaf)."[Siyar 16/457]
As-Sam'aanee (d.562H) said in al-lnsaab (3/273): "As-Salafi: this is an ascription to the Salaf and following their ways, in that which is related from them." lbn al-Atheer (d.630H) said in al-Lubaab fee Tahdheebul-lnsaab (2/162), commenting upon the previous saying of as-Sam'aanee: "And a group were known by this ascription." So the meaning is: that the term Salafi, and its ascription to them, was a matter known in the time of Imaam as-Sam'aanee, or before him.
