From the Worst of Mankind

From the Worst of Mankind

 Imaam Bin Baaz

Translator: Abu 'Abdis Salaam Al Juyaanee
Source: “Sharhul Kitaabit Tawheed” pages 107-109

This Hadeeth is reported on the authority of Ibn Mas’ood (رضي الله عنه) reachingback to the Prophet ﷺ,

Verily from the worst of mankind are those whom the Hour will be established upon and they are alive, and those whom have taken the graves as places of worship (masaajid).
This is because the Hour will only be established upon the worst of creation. As far as the believers their souls will be taken by a pleasant wind prior to this (i.e. the establishment of the Hour).

Those who take the graves as places of worship are from the worst of mankind because they are a means and cause for the people falling into shirk (polytheism), innovation, and erroneous acts. This is because once the people view such a thing as correct they will naturally conclude and say, “Since they have built (a place of worship over this grave, the occupant of it) must then be supplicated to and called on in times of peril.

However, there is no problem if the grave is in close proximity to the cemetery. This is because the walkway in that case will separate between the two, and this is superior (to masaajid being on top of graves).

This is correct just as we have previously mentioned (when speaking about) extremism, that results in the one whom they are extreme about being taken as an object of worship instead of or along with Allah. Due to this the people exaggerated the status of some of the righteous. They thus, took them as objects of worship instead of or along with Allah. Examples of this are like the graves of Al Hassan (radiAllahu ‘anhu), Al Hussain (radi Allahu ‘anhu), Faatimah (radi Allahu ‘anha) and other than them. This nation has likewise exaggerated the status of the Messenger ﷺ and consequently fallen into (shirk by) worshipping him (by supplicating to him and the like) and seeking his aid in times of peril instead of or along with Allah; this (also happened) in the times of antiquity when the people of Nuh ﷺ exaggerated the status of the righteous until they eventually worshipped them (which is polytheism) as we have already mentioned.

The One That Takes From His Beard is Not a Student of Knowledge – Shaykh Salih Al-Fawzaan

The One That Takes From His Beard is Not a Student of Knowledge

– Shaykh Salih Al-Fawzaan

As Salaamu Alaikum

The questioner says:

It has spread amongst the students of knowledge, i.e. the taking (of hair) from ones beard, so some advice is desired.

Ash-Shaykh Al-`Allaamah Salih Al-Fawzaan:

They are not students of knowledge nor scholars, the ones that take (hair) from the beard are not students of knowledge, the students of knowledge are the ones that act upon the Sunnah, and the Sunnah is to leave the beard, the one that takes from his beard is not from the students of knowledge! Yes.

The Link Between Blessings and Gratitude

The Link Between Blessings and Gratitude

It is reported that ʿAlī b. Abī Ṭālib – Allāh be pleased with him – said:

"Blessings arrive with gratitude [to Allāh], and gratitude is connected with more [blessings], and the two are tied together: more blessings from Allāh will never stop unless gratitude from the servant stops".

Taking the pills that prevent menses in order to perform fasting

Taking the pills that prevent menses

in order to perform fasting

Shaykh Muhammad Ali Ferkous

Fatwa n°: 919
Category: Fatwas about fasting

The ruling regarding taking the pills that prevent menses in order to perform fasting

Question:

What is the ruling regarding taking the pills that prevent menses during Ramadan in order to fast the whole month, without resorting to making up fasting?

Answer:

All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds. Peace and blessing be upon whom Allah sent as a mercy to the Worlds, upon his Family, his Companions and his Brothers till the Day of Resurrection.
The considered opinion is that the woman keeps her nature, without using the pills that delay menses in order to perform fasting. She is rewarded for her worship by not fasting and not doing other acts of worship, due to menses, which are predestined by Allah عزَّ وجلَّ. She will not miss the reward by Allah’s Will. She will worship Allah عزَّ وجلَّ later by making up fasting, knowing that Dhikr (remembrance of Allah), which is one of the best actions, is allowed for her during menses, as the Prophet صلَّى الله عليه وسلَّم was used to remember Allah عزَّ وجلَّ in all cases(1). In case she used the pills and fasted, her fasting, then, is correct and she does not have to make it up.

The perfect knowledge belongs to Allah سبحانه وتعالى. Our last prayer is all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds. Peace and blessing be upon our Prophet, his Family, his Companions and his Brothers till the Day of Resurrection.

Algiers, Jumâdâ Ath-Thâniya 1st 1429H
Corresponding to June 5th, 2008

(1) Reported by Mouslim in his “Sahîh”; chapter of menses; about the remembrance of Allah in case of Janâba (major ritual impurity) and other cases (hadith 826), and Abu Dâwûd in his “Sunan”; chapter of purification; about the remembrance of Allah by a person in case of impurity (hadith 18), and At-Tirmidhi in his “Sunan”, chapter of invocations; concerning what is reported about answering the muslim’s invocation (hadith 3384), and Ibn Mâjâh in his “Sunan”; chapter of purification; concerning the remembrance of Allah when relieving oneself and putting the ring when relieving oneself (hadith 302), and Ahmed in His “Musnad “ (hadith 23889) according to the hadith reported by `Â'icha رضي الله عنها.

Mentioning Allah While Using The Bathroom: Shaykh Salih Alish-Shaykh

Mentioning Allah While Using The Bathroom:

 Shaykh Salih Alish-Shaykh

This is hated, so it’s befitting for the Muslims to avoid it. Ibn Umar stated that a man passed by Allah’s Messenger -sallahu alayhi wa salaam- while he was urinating and conveyed the salaams, however the Messenger -sallahu alayhi wa salaam- did not respond. That was because returning the salaams is dhikr.

The Woman Who Is Severely Beaten By Her Husband Has The Right To Ask For A Khul'ah

Author: Shaykh Fu’aad al-‘Amri

Source: Asked on Istiqamah Hajj & Umrah Beginning of Rajab 1437/ Friday April 8th 2016

Question: Is it permissible for a woman who has been beaten by her husband to the point that she has been hospitalized to seek a Khul'ah?

Answer: Yes it is permissible for her to do so because this situation constitutes bad and harmful living conditions. She would give back the dowry and be released from the marriage by way of the Khul'ah. Rather, if she was in a place where there's an Islamic Judge, the judge would dissolve the marriage due to this abuse...

A Few Characteristics of the Haddādiyyah Sect

A Few Characteristics of the Haddādiyyah Sect

Author: Abu Dihyah Dawud Adib

It is important that we understand the following point very well: the Haddādiyyah Sect is extremely dangerous! We should always ask Allāh not to make us like them, to not cause us to emulate them while wearing the garments of Salafiyyah. For indeed, whoever imitates a people is from them!

Two of their characteristics are:

Fanatacism towards personalities, which is a common characteristic among the People of Blind Bigotry and Partisanship.
The Haddadi sect provides moral, intellectual, theological and logistic support to Dā'ish.

🔈 Abū Bakr bin Abī Dāwūd said in his Hā'iyyah:

ولا تعتقد رأي الخوارج إنه *** مقال لمن يهواه يردي ويفضح

And do not hold a belief like the Khawārij; for indeed it is a position only held by those who desire it, and it is destructive and disgraceful!

----------------

Shaykh Sālih al-Fawzān explains this line of poetry saying:

فمٓذهبُ الخٓوارِجِ يٓتفرّعُ منه فروعٌ قبيحةٌ فلا تعتقده أو تمل إليه بل اعتبره مذهباً باطلاً، و هذا في الذي يرى رأيٓهم و لو لم يفعل مثلٓ فعلِهم، فكٓيفٓ بالذي يرى رأيٓهم و يُنفِّذُه؟

Thus, this is the methodology of the Khawārij, from which sprung other repugnant branches [of methodologies and principles]. Therefore, do not hold these beliefs nor incline towards them, instead consider them false opinions [principles and concepts]. Keeping in mind that this is referring to those who only hold these opinions [principles and concepts] yet they have not carried out these actions. So how much more those who also hold these corrupted beliefs and concepts and carry them out?

⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕

Shaykh Rabī described the Haddaadis, saying:

الحدادية لهم أصل خبيث، وهو أنهم إذا ألصقوا بإنسان قولاً هو بريء منه ويعلن براءته منه، فإنهم يصرون على الاستمرار على رمي ذلك المظلوم بما ألصقوه به، فهم بهذا الأصل الخبيث يفوقون الخوارج

The Haddadis have an evil principle with them which is [the following]: Whenever they have attached to a [Salafi] individual that which he is in reality innocent of and [that Salafi has already] announced openly that he is indeed innocent of it - (i.e. what he is being falsely accused of) - they [the Haddādis] continue to hurl those accusations against that oppressed [Salafi] individual with that which they [the Haddadis] have [falsely] assigned to him.

Consequently, [by utilizing this technique] of their repugnant principle [they have concocted] they have exceeded the [methodology] of the Khawarij

********

In conclusion, we should check ourselves to see if any of these filthy principles have crept into our minds, hearts, or behaviors.

Oh Allāh! Do not make us like the people we warn against!

Islamic Position With Regards To The Shiite: Shaykh Rabee Ibn Hadee

Islamic Position With Regards

To The Shiite: Shaykh Rabee Ibn Hadee

Q: What is the Islamic position with regards to the Shiite coming out of Iran, especially as it relates to the abundance of them present at the Sanctuary (in Mecca) and the elders from them? How do we interact with them?

A: Interaction with them falls between two (varying) circumstances. You either have the ability to affect them and to (properly) call them to Allah (worship of Him based on revelation) just as you would call the Jews and Christians to the truth making it clear to them. If this is the case, call them to Allah and if you do not possess the ability to do so (which is the second circumstance) then distance yourself from them. Allah only burdens an individual with that which he can bear.

And this is a calamity that has befallen to which there is no escape. It has befallen and is a trial for us, as we are unable to prevent them from entering the Two Sanctuaries. As a result we are tested by way of them just as the companions were tested by way of the hypocrites. So this is the reality. Consequently the strong students of knowledge and the scholars must take on the responsibility of inviting them to Allah, presenting (to them) the proofs, and referring them to the truth. Either they will accept and if not then the proof is established against them.

As for the small student of knowledge he distances himself and abandons them. He should not be like some who say “the Shiite are our brothers, the difference between us and them is like the difference between Malik and Shaafi’ee.” Those who say this are deceivers who misled the Muslims. A multitude of adherents to the Sunnah have plunged into the arms of the Shiite due to this watering down (and distortion) of the affair. Multitudes in Africa, (specifically) in Sudan and Egypt. Have you not heard about what transpired in Egypt during the medieval era? The batini Shiite ruled Egypt and circulated throughout the land shiism along with the batini ideology, then Allah granted Sallahuddin Al Ayyubi victory in conquering them. Subsequently their government fell and the Sunnah’s influence returned to Egypt. There remained some who upheld the batini ideology under the cloak of Sufism and this is the reason why they can’t outwardly display neither shiism nor the batini ideology.

Unfortunately in this era the craving of the Shiite has intensified with respect to returning shiism and batinism to that country and they have begun to spread their poison. Did you all hear the answer (to the initial question)? The Questioner asked about the Shiite and ones conduct with them. We replied with it being binding upon the strong students of knowledge and the scholars to invite them to Allah, and to make clear the truth. Perhaps Allah will guide whomever He wills from those among them. As for small students of knowledge they are to avoid, shun, and show no regard towards them. And we say the opposite of what some deceivers say from those involved in politics “the Shiite are our brothers, the difference between us and them is like the difference between Malik and Shaafi’ee.”

This is inventing a lie on Allah and misleading the Muslims, subsequently causing many from those who attribute themselves to the Sunnah to be flung into the arms of the Shiite.

The Difference Between Ar-Rahman and Ar-Raheem

The Difference Between Ar-Rahman and Ar-Raheem

Sheikh Muhammad ibn Salih Al Uthaymin said,

Ar-Rahman: The possessor of vast mercy.

Ar-Raheem: The granter of mercy to whomever He wills.

The difference between the two is that the first relates to the existence of mercy as a description for Him, whereas the second is related to it being an action of His, as He grants (or bestows) mercy to whomever He wills from His creation.

Sheikh Abdur Razzaq ibn Abdil Muhsin Al Abbad said,

Ar-Rahman: He to whom which mercy is a description.

Ar-Raheem: The doer of the action of being merciful to His servants, for this reason the Exalted says:

“And with the believers He is most merciful (رحيمًا) ” [Al-Ahzab: 43]

“..certainly He is to them full of Kindness, Most Merciful (رحيمٌ)” [At-Taubah: 117]

So Ar-Rahman is on a (certain) scale (in the Arabic language related to morphology) that indicates a permanent, inseparable, and perfect attribute. In other words; from His attributes is mercy. Whereas Ar-Raheem indicates the spreading of mercy to those whom it is bestowed upon. Meaning those who received mercy via (His) action.

The Emergence Of Time When Bid`ah Will
Be Considered As Sunnah

The Companion, Hudhaifah bin al-Yamaan رضي الله عنه once took two stones and placed one on top of the other and asked his companions: ❝Do you see any light (passing) between these two stones?❞

They said: “O Abu `Abdullaah! We don’t see any light (passing) between these two stones except for very little.”

He said: ❝By the One (Allaah) in whose Hand is my soul! Verily, Bid`ah (religious innovation) will (soon) appear till nothing of the truth is seen except for the amount of light which you see (passing) between these two stones. By Allaah! Bid`ah will circulate (so much) so that if something of it is left out, the people will say: The Sunnah had been abandoned.❞

'Abdullah Bin Muhammad Ad Da'eef (rahimahullah) -one of the Imaams of the Salaf- said,

The Qa'ad (i.e. the Qa'adiyyah1) of the Khawaarij are the worst and most vile of the Khawaarij.
[Reported in the Masaail of Imaam Ahmad (rahimahullah) by Imaam Abu Dawud (rahimahullah) on pg. 271 with an authentic chain of narration.]

TN: The Qa'adiyyah are those from the Khawaarij who incite others to rebel, revolt, and commit acts of atrocity while they themselves do not take part in the actual fighting and/or “operations.” They are the worst of the Khawaarij because they are in fact the root and cause of these evil acts. Therefore, any "radical cleric" calling people to the methodology of the evil Khawaarij and inciting them to commit acts of terrorism is thus from the Qa'adiyyah and subsequently the worst of the Khawaarij.

Every Mother (Woman) Must Dedicate Herself

Every Mother (Woman) Must Dedicate Herself

“A woman, first and foremost, needs to be righteous herself, so that she can be a good example for her daughters…

A woman should train her children properly, for her children represent the men and women of the future. In the earliest stages of their development, it is the mothers that human beings learn from. If she is a good mother, good in her manners and dealings and good in the way she brings up her children, then those children will take after her and contribute positively to the betterment of society.

Every mother, then, must dedicate herself to training her children, and if she cannot undertake their training on her own, then their father or another guardian – for example, a brother or uncle, if their father is dead – should help her to raise them.

A woman should not yield to difficult circumstances, feeling that she cannot change her situation or her family’s situation for the better.”

Wearing a Coat Over the Jilbab

The Ruling on a Woman Wearing a Coat Over the Jilbab

Shaikh Salih al-Fawzan

Question: May Allah be good to you. I have another question: Is it allowed for a woman to wear a coat over the jilbab knowing that she will go out in a condition of necessity and severe cold?

Answer: “What is important is that a woman covers herself when leaving and cover herself completely. Nothing should be apparent from her by using any covering or clothing. What is important is that she covers herself. As for the details of the clothing, then this returns to the conditions of the women and to the need of the women. Nothing is prohibited except for the clothing which is for men. She does not wear the clothing of men. She only wears the clothing of women. The Prophet (ﷺ) said:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) cursed those men who are effeminate, and women who imitate men.
[Bukhari and Muslim]

So it is not allowed for one gender to resemble another. Everyone has a clothing. The men have their clothing and the women have their clothing. Yes”.

The Ruling on Selling Imitation Goods

The Ruling on Selling Imitation Goods

Shaikh Salih al-Fawzan hafidhuhallah:

Question: He says oh Virtuous Shaikh (may Allah facilitate for you): what is the ruling on buying and selling imitation goods like watches, pens, and other than that?

Answer: “You notify regarding it. There is no preventative for you to sell it or buy it. However, inform that it is an imitation and not an original and that its price is cheaper than the price of the origin. As for those who cheat the people and sell it as if it is an original and take the price of the original and it is an imitation, then this is cheating. When the Prophet (ﷺ) said:

من غشنا فليس منا

Whoever cheats us is not one of us

[Saheeh Muslim]

If the buyer does not know, then clarify to him and so he see it as an imitation. So he does not take it thinking it was an original and pays a high price and [the seller] exploits his [the buyer’s] ignorance. This is not allowed. This is cheating”.

The Ruling On Throwing Food in the Garbage

The Ruling On Throwing Food in the Garbage Shaikh Ibn ul-‘Uthaymeen

Question: May Allah be good to you, what is the ruling on students throwing the remaining food and drink in the garbage?

Answer: “As for what is not going to be eaten, like orange, apple, banana peels, and what resembles that then there is no harm. This is because there is no need for it itself. As for food that can be eaten like remains of bread or sauce and what resembles that, then it is not thrown in the places of filth. If it must be thrown in the garbage, then place it in a special bag so that those who are cleaning know that it is something that deserves respect” .

An Easy Way to Keep Devils Out of Your House by Reciting Two Blessed, Ancient Verses

An Easy Way to Keep Devils Out of Your

House by Reciting Two Blessed, Ancient Verses

An-Nu’maan ibn Bashir narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said, “Indeed Allaah wrote a Book two thousand years before He created the heavens and the earth, He sent down two aayahs from it with which He ended Surah al-Baqarah—if they are recited for three nights in a home, no Shaitaan shall come near it.”

Saheeh at-Targheeb, no. 1476, al-Albaani said, “Saheeh.” [Translation taken from English translation of Al-Tirmidhi, slightly edited.]

The two verses are:

‘Āmanar-Rasūlu bimā ‘unzila ‘ilayhi mir-rabbihi wal-Mu’uminūna ۚ kullun ‘Āmana billāhi wa Malā’ikatihi wa Kutubihi wa Rusulihi Lā nufarriqu baina ‘aĥadin mir-Rusulihi ۚ wa qālū sami`nā wa ‘Aţa`nā ۖ  Ghufrānaka Rabbanā wa ‘ilaikal-Maşīr.

“The Messenger believes in what has been sent down to him from his Lord, and (so do) the believers. Each one believes in Allaah, His Angels, His Books, and His Messengers. They say, “We make no distinction between one another of His Messengers.” And they say, “We hear, and we obey. (We seek) Your Forgiveness, Our Lord, and to You is the return (of all).””

Lā yukallifullāhu nafsan ‘illā wus`ahā ۚ Lahā mā kasabat wa `alaihā maktasabat ۗ
Rabbanā lā tu’uākhidhnā ‘in-nasīnā ‘aw ‘akhţa’nā ۚ
Rabbanā wa lā taĥmil `alainā ‘işran kamā ĥamaltahu `alalladhīna min qablinā ۚ
Rabbanā wa lā tuĥammilnā mā lā ţāqata lanā bihi ۖ
Wa`fu `annā waghfir lanā warĥamnā ۚ ‘Anta mawlānā fānşurnā `alal-qawmil-kāfirīn.

“Allaah burdens not a person beyond his scope. He gets reward for that (good) which he has earned, and he is punished for that (evil) which he has earned. “Our Lord! Punish us not if we forget or fall into error. Our Lord! Lay not on us a burden like that which You did lay on those before us. Our Lord! Put not on us a burden greater than we have strength to bear. Pardon us and grant us Forgiveness. Have mercy on us. You are our Protector! And give us victory over the disbelieving people.””

The Ruling on Having a Dog

The Ruling on Having a Dog

Author: Imaam Bin Baaz
Translator: Abu 'Abdis Salaam Al Juyaanee
Source: http://www.binbaz.org.sa/node/9270

It is not permissible to raise/keep a dog except for three (reasons): a hunting dog, a guard dog for herding livestock (and or protecting something) or a dog for farming, the Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) said,

Whoever keeps a dog that is not a dog for hunting, herding livestock or farming, two qiraats will be deducted from his reward each day.
This is because keeping a dog is a means to filth, dirtying and harming the house due to it (i.e. the dog). The Prophet (ﷺ) ordered that a dish that is licked by a dog be washed seven times, one of which with dirt. So it is a must to stay away from this. Thus, staying away (from this affair is a must) except for the need of hunting, farming and guarding or herding livestock (or something valuable). As far as having them for other than these reason(s), is blind following and imitation of the Christians. So this is not permissible.

Envy is hating Allah’s Decree

Envy is hating Allah’s Decree

To envy is to desire the removal of Allah’s Blessings from their owner. This is the first level of envy. The second level is to hope misfortune follows the servant (as a shadow would follow its object). On this level the envious one wishes that the object of their envy remains ignorant, poor, weak, and hopes that their heart is separated from Allah. They wish the religion of the one they envy remains deficient. In truth, this envious person hates what Allah Decrees and Grants to His servants.”

Using the Qur’aan as a shifaa’ (cure)

Using the Qur’aan as a shifaa’ (cure)

Question: The first question is from Sister Mujahida from New York, she says: My aunt has a daughter who is about 5 and can barely speak and recently started walking. The doctors said there isn’t anything physically wrong with her and she is just slow. Some claim that she has ‘ayn (عين – evil eye) on her and someone suggested that she read Surah Ikhlaas X number of times and she will start walking and talking. My aunt did this for a while and my cousin started to walk. However, I was trying to explain it to her if it was practised by the Sahaabah, but she says, “It is a surah from the Qur’aan and Allaah سبحانه و تعالى says it’s a book that cures, then what’s wrong with me reading it?” The questions are:

i. How do I explain this issue to her?

ii. Is there any ruqyah from Qur’aan and Sunnah that I can give her and tell her to do on her daughter?

Answer: About the question, as I understand it this lady is reading suratul-Ikhlaas and she said inshaa’ Allaah in suratul-Ikhlaas there is a cure. We should know that Allaah سبحانه و تعالى says in the Qur’aan:

وَنُنَزِّلُ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ مَا هُوَ شِفَاءٌ وَرَحْمَةٌ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَلاَ يَزِيدُ الظَّالِمِينَ إَلاَّ خَسَارًا

{And We send down of the Qur’ân that which is a healing and a mercy to those who believe (in Islâmic Monotheism and act on it), and it increases the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers) nothing but loss.} [Al-Israa 17:82]

This cure includes the cure from doubts, cure from physical illness and also from the illness of the soul i.e. shak an-nafsiyyah (شك النفسية – doubting of the soul). So the Qur’aan is a shifaa’ (شفاء – cure). We know this, and we know that there are special surahs that the Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه و سلم has guided us to, and some aayaat, and we know the Qur’aan as a whole is ash-shifaa’ (The Cure). When you read Qur’aan Inshaa’ Allaah with the intention ofshifaa’, and knowledge (understanding), it is shifaa’.

There are special surahs and aayaat like al-Faatihah, and the beginning aayaat of surah al-Baqarah, and ayatul-Kursi, and suratul-Ikhlaas, suratul-Kaafiroon, the muwaddataan (Surah al-Falaq and an-Naas). There are verses which Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم tells us that if you read them on a sick then Inshaa’ Allaah they will be cured. There is also a saying of Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم that I think she can find it in the Sunnah book (Hisnul Muslim) and if she asks her Imaam, he will guide her to it like:

Place your hand at the site of the pain and say: Bismillah ‘In the name of Allaah’ (three times) Then supplicate seven times:

أَعُوْذُ بِاللهِ وَ قُدْرَتِهِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا أَجِدُ وَ أُحَاذِرُ

A’oodhu billaahi wa qudratihi min sharri ma ajidu wa uhadhir

‘I take refuge in Allaah and within His Omnipotence from the evil that I feel and am wary of.’[6]

Also from the Sunnah of Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم is to recite:

أَذْهِبِ الْبَاسَ، رَبَّ النَّاسِ، وَاشْفِ أَنْتَ الشَّافِي، لاَ شِفَاءَ إِلاَّ شِفَاؤُكَ، شِفَاءً لاَ يُغَادِرُ سَقَماً

Adhibilba’s Rabbanaas wasfi antashaafee laa shifaa’a illa shifaauka shifaa’an laa yughaadiru saqamaa[7]

So the Qur’aan is shifaa’ and there are special surahs that we can say on the sick person, and he can read them himself. However, specifying a special surah or special aayaat that the Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم did not mention, is wrong. There is nothing that specifies this and specifying a number of times to read this surah also does not come from Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم, and the Sahaabah رضي الله عنهم did not do this, so we should follow the way of using the ruqyah shar’iyyah (الشرعية الرقية – permissible incantation). He should not be very harsh regarding this. She is reading Qur’aan and surah al-Ikhlaas has special meanings in it, so I think it is okay to read the Qur’aan but not specific (parts); it is better to read the whole of surah al-Faatihah, Ayatul-Kursi, suratul-Baqarah Wallaahu A’lam.

The Swords of Criticism Must be Unsheathed Upon the People of Falsehood

The Swords of Criticism Must be

Unsheathed Upon the People of Falsehood

Author: Shaikh Rabee' bin Haadi bin Umayr al Madkhali

Shaykh Rabee (may Allah preserve him) mentioned:

As long as there is a battle between the truth and falsehood, guidance and misguidance, then it is a must that the swords of criticism -Jarh (disparagement) and Ta'deel (praise)- be unsheathed upon the people of falsehood. They are more dangerous than the people of narration (who were criticized).

Our Way With The Rulers Is One

Our Way With The Rulers Is One

Author: Imaam Muqbil
Translator: Abu 'Abdis Salaam Al Juyaanee
Source: Tuhfaul Majeeb pg. 215-216

Our call is not a call (that calls) to calamities and turmoil and the current state of affairs testifies of this fact. We are not like those (individuals) who are with the (Muslim) rulers in their faces, wipe their feet and say to them welcome, welcome while in their (hearts) they believe this ruler to be a disbeliever. No, rather our way is one, the Book and the Sunnah. We interact with the rulers in an Islamic manner.

We asked that Allah guides them and return them to the truth with the beautiful return.

Attending the masjid and having a bad smell

Attending the masjid and having a bad smell

Question: Often, in some masaajid there is a bad smell – such as [that of] garlic, onions, [tobacco] smoke – [something indicative of some of the congregation] paying [little or] no attention to the cleanliness of their clothes, nor respecting the sanctity of the prayer and the masaajid, not to mention the other members of the congregation; so what is your advice to these people?

Response: It is obligatory upon the Muslim when setting out for the masjid, that he smells nice, and that his clothes are clean; that s because he is heading for a house from the houses of Allaah, and will be mixing with other members of the congregation. So he must not cause them any discomfort with any bad smell; [the important thing being] whatever he does to eliminate the bad smell, or at the very least reduce it – then this is what is required.

THE BEST WELCOME

THE BEST WELCOME

Shaykh Badr Ibn Ali al-Utaybi

Oh sister, know that you will neither obtain lofty mannerisms nor a healthy marital life until you greet your husband like the greeting of the most gracious of hostesses to their guests. Be keen in rushing to welcome your husband upon entering the home with a warm embrace [as this shows you were looking forward to see him and hence makes him feel loved].

Kiss him with love and respect, a kiss of affection and enthusiastic desire. For this will cause him to have a strong bond with you, and in turn he will come to recognize your rights over him.

Advice for married sisters

Advice for married sisters

Based On Your Customs:

The common practices of the people have their benefit and rulings that apply to them. Whatever the people see as good, as long as it doesn’t oppose a command or prohibition of the Islamic Legislation. So with this in mind, the general customs of the people are made up certain mannerisms and behaviors which are not suitable for you to oppose in order to protect you and your husband from public scorn. There are many examples of this, varying based on time, place, and culture. There are certain things that people used to consider despicable, today people may deem them to be from lofty mannerisms. Likewise, there are certain marital practices that may be considered crimes by people who live in rural areas, while they are considered noble practices by city dwellers. Similarly, certain practices may be prohibited amongst certain tribes, but with other cultures and ethnicities it may be an established practice.

So look at what is considered noble behavior from the people of our time, place, and tribe and hold firm to it. Do not oppose it with false claims such as the freedom to behave as you wish. And perhaps from these practices that are agreed upon.

1. Avoid calling him by his first name. Rather, it is from good manners to call him by his Kunya, or with a name that he likes to hear from you such Oh my heart, oh my dear, and other than that.

2. Lower your voice when addressing him. It is bad manners for you to raise your voice when addressing your husband or criticizing him; and it is even worse if you are in the presence of others.

3. Not walking in front of him, except when there’s a need to do so. It is from good manners that you walk by his side or slightly behind him out of respect and honor for him.

4. Not burdening him with shopping for your personal female products. Although it is permissible, many people have grown accustom to disliking this practice.

5. Calm and peaceful behavior while guests are over. The typical custom of most people is that they dislike hearing loud noises coming from inside the house and from the cooking pans, especially while they are being served.

6. Shouting out and calling him around men. Even though your voice is not aowra ( those things that must be concealed from men, such as a women’s hair) based on that the most correct opinion, most people dislike hearing a women’s voice and are more comfortable with having her clap or knock on the door and other things similar to this. This is better etiquette.

7. Giving him the responsibility of carrying the child without the need, while outside the home. Although it is not impermissible legislatively, many people look down upon it

So with these types of customs judge yourself, in order to determine what are good etiquettes and practices ,then hold firm to them, not opposing them at all; because indeed for one to oppose that which has been established is against good manners

Is There Repentance for the Homosexual?

Is There Repentance for the Homosexual?

Shaykh Muqbil Al-Wādi'ī

Question: Is there repentance for the homosexual?

Answer: False stories have been reported stating that if he were to bathe within the entire ocean he would not become pure and that there is no repentance for him. This is falsehood. Rather, Tawbah erases what was before it. If Allāh will accept the repentance of the polytheist then likewise, he who falls into Fāhishah or other than it from the lewd actions Allāh will accept his repentance. Allāh, the Glorified and Exalted said:

   (وَإِنِّي لَغَفَّارٌ لِمَنْ تَابَ وَآمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا ثُمَّ اهْتَدَىٰ)

Indeed I am Oft-Forgiving of he who repents, has faith, works righteousness, and is guided. (Ta Ha 20:82)

The Ruling on Buying a House On Usury In the West

The Ruling on Buying a House On Usury In the West

Shaikh Salih al-Fawzaan

Question: May Allah be good to you Oh possessor of Virtue, the questioner says: A Muslim lives in the West and wants to buy a house because the rent there is very expensive. However, buying a house can not be completed except through the banks there and they work with usury. Question: Is it allowed to buy a house through the banks because he is forced to do that?

Answer: “No, usury is not allowed in any situation and it is not a necessity. Why not through a means that has no problem? Where is the necessity? If he wants to buy a house through a halal means, there is no harm even though buying a house in the lands of the disbelievers calls to gaining a visa and remaining there. However, buying a house is permissible with halal money. As for buying it through usury, then this is haram, not allowed, and there is no necessity for that because the halal means solves the problem. Allah did not permit usury in any situation. This is because Allah blessed the Muslims with the halal.

Allah has permitted trading and forbidden Riba (usury)
[2:275]

Allah sufficed the Muslims with Halal. So he can obtain a house through halal [means] either renting or buying without usury or other than that of the means. Yes. May peace and blessings be upon the Prophet, his followers, and Companions”.
