Is the punishment of the grave specific to the one who is ACTUALLY in a grave only?

Is the punishment of the grave specific to the one who is ACTUALLY in a grave only?

Al-Imaam Ibnu Abil-Izz (Rahimahu Allah) said in his fantastic explanation on 'Aqeedahtu At-Tahaawiyyah' page 400 :

"And know that the punishment of the grave is the punishment of the Barzakh (Life of the Barrier), so everyone who dies and he is deserving of the punishment will receive his portion from it if was buried or not , if he was eaten by a beast or if he was burnt until he became ashes and was scattered into the air or if he was crucified or if he drowned in the sea, the punishment will still reach his spirit and body the same way it would reach the one who was buried."

May Allah save us from the punishment of the grave.

PROPOSING TO A WOMAN WHO DOES NOT COVER IN HOPES OF CHANGING HER

PROPOSING TO A WOMAN WHO DOES NOT COVER IN HOPES OF CHANGING HER

Shaykh Muhammad Firkoos

Question:

Is it permissible to propose to a woman who prays but does not cover (i.e. she is Mutabarrijah), intending to compel her to wear the Jilbaab after marriage? What is your advice?

Answer:

All the praise is for Allaah the Lord of all that exists. May prayers and peace be upon he whom Allaah sent as a mercy to the creation; upon his family members and companions and his brethren until the Day of Recompense. As to proceed:

It is befitting that the prayer should be a reason for the uprightness of the individual.

The Prophet said:

“The first thing which the servant will be called to account for on the Day of Standing is the prayer. If it is sound then the rest of his actions will be sound; if it is corrupt then the rest of his actions will be corrupt.”1

The one whom his prayer does not prevent him from lewdness (Al-Fahshaa’) and evil acts (Al-Munkar) then his actions will be deficient. And from Al-Fahshaa’ is At-Tabarruj (not covering or not covering properly).

Allaah the Glorified and High has commanded the people to not display their ‘Awraah:'
O Children of Adam! Take your adornment (by wearing your clean clothes), while praying. (Al-A'raf 7:31)

And He said:

O Children of Adam! We have bestowed raiment upon you to cover yourselves (screen your private parts, etc.) and as an adornment, and the raiment of righteousness, that is better. Such are among the Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allaah, that they may remember (i.e. leave falsehood and follow truth). O Children of Adam! Let not Shaytaan (Satan) deceive you, as he got your parents [Adam and Hawwa (Eve)] out of Paradise, stripping them of their raiment, to show them their private parts. Verily, he and Qabîluhu (his soldiers from the Jinn or his tribe) see you from where you cannot see them. Verily, We made the Shayaateen (devils) Auliyâ' (protectors and helpers) for those who believe not. And when they commit a Fâhisha (evil deed, going round the Ka'bah in naked state, every kind of unlawful sexual intercourse, etc.), they say: "We found our fathers doing it, and Allaah has commanded us of it." Say: "Nay, Allaah never commands of Fâhisha. Do you say of Allaah what you know not? (Al-A'raf 7:26-28)

In the pre-Islamic days of ignorance they would make Tawaaf (around the Ka’bah) naked. So nakedness and uncovering enters into the general meaning of Faahishah. Allaah has commanded the women to cover.

He said:

And stay in your houses, and do not display yourselves like that of the times of ignorance. (Al-Ahzaab 33:33)

And He, the Most High has said:

O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies. (Al-Ahzaab 33:59)

So if this woman does not comply with the legislative texts commanding to cover and she is not reformed by her prayer to abandon Al-Fahshaa’ (lewdness i.e. not covering) and Munkar (evil), then we do not advise proposing to her. We have no doubt that after the man marries her it will be difficult for him to change her to the path that he sees as correct. The scholars have confirmed the principle: Repelling (evil) takes precedence over elevating (the status of someone etc.). Also because leaving (marrying) her today is better than marrying her then divorcing her or seeking annulment (tomorrow) because she won’t comply with his command. More evil that that is that which is feared; that he will come to be in agreement with her desires and fall into sharing (in her sin) and be affected by her Fitnah, then become pleased with the Munkar after it becomes something which he deems to be good; and Allaah is beseeched for help.

And the knowledge is with Allaah. The last of our supplications is: All the praise is for Allaah, and may prayers and peace from Allaah be upon Muhammad, his family, companions, and all those who follow them in goodness until the Day of Recompense.

والعلم عند الله، وآخر دعوانا أن الحمد لله رب العالمين وصلّى الله على محمّد وعلى آله وصحبه والتابعين لهم بإحسان إلى يوم الدين.

Who can give a Fatwa?

Imam Malik رحمه الله gave a great example when he was asked who is able to give fatawa and the Imam said,

Issuing fatwâ is not allowed except for a person who knows what the people have differed in. It was said, ‘Do you mean the different views of the people of opinions (those who depend more on analogy and speculation)? He replied, “No, [I mean] the different views of the Companions of Muhammad – Allâh’s praise and peace be upon him. And he must also know the textual evidence that abrogates [other rulings] and that which is abrogated [by other texts], both in the Quran and the hadîth of Allah’s Messenger – Allâh’s praise and peace be upon him. Such a person can issue fatâwâ.

Ibn ‘Abd Al-Barr, Jâmi’ Bayân Al-’Ilm wa Fadlihî article 1529.

And from the saying of Al Mubarak رحمه الله

It is reported that ‘Abdullâh b. Al-Mubârak – Allâh have mercy on him – was asked, “When can a person issue an edict (fatwâ)?” He replied, “When he is knowledgeable about the narrations (hadith and traditions of the Salaf), and has insight into [juristic] opinion.

Ibid. article 1532.

Uthaimeen Asked About Seeking Knowledge During I’tikaaf

Uthaimeen Asked About Seeking

 Knowledge During I’tikaaf

Shaikh Uthaimeen, may Allaah have mercy on him, was asked, “Does someone who is performing i’tikaaf negate its spirit by seeking knowledge?”  He replied, “There is no doubt that seeking knowledge is obedience to Allaah the Most High, buti’tikaaf is for specific forms of worship like prayer, dhikr, reciting the Quraan and things like that.”

Ibn ‘Arabee the Sufi, and the Difference Between Ibn ‘Arabee and Ibnul ‘Arabee

Ibn ‘Arabee the Sufi, and the Difference
Between Ibn ‘Arabee and Ibnul ‘Arabee

The third ideology is that of wahdatul-wujood, i.e. that all in existence is a single reality, and that everything we see is only aspects of the Essence of Allaah. The chief claimant of this belief was Ibn ‘Arabee al-Haatimee at-Taa’ee, who was buried in Damascus having died in the year 638H. He himself says about this belief in his book al-Fatoohaat-ul-Makkiyyah”

“The slave is the Lord and the Lord is a slave,
I wish that I knew which was the one required to carry out the required duties.
If I were to say the servant then that is true, or if I were to say the Lord,
then how can that be required for Him.”
Al-Fatoohaat-ul-Makkiyyah as it is attributed by
Dr. Taqiyyuddeen al-Hilaalee in his book al-Hadiyyatul-Haadiyah (p.43).

He also says in al-Fatoohaat:
“Those who worshipped the calf worshipped nothing except Allaah.”
Quoted as Ibn ‘Arabee’s saying by Ibn Tayrniyyah in al Fataawaa (vol.11)
who attributes it to the book al Fatoohaat.

Indeed he praised Fir’awn (Pharaoh) and declared that he died upon eemaan!

Furthermore he speaks against Haroon for his criticism of his peoples worship of the calf, thus directly opposing the text of the Qur’aan.

He also held that the Christians were Unbelievers only because they made divinity particular to ‘Eesaa, whereas if they had made it general to all then they would not have been unbelievers. [Despite all the gross deviation of Ibn 'Arabee and the fact that the scholars declared him to be an Unbeliever, yet he is revered by the Sufis and others who do not distinguish between the truth and falsehood, and those who turnaway from accepting the truth even when it is as clear as the sun. But his books, which are filled with clear apostasy, such as al-Fatoohaatul-Makkiyyah and Fusoosul-Hikam are still circulated. He even has a tafseer, which he called at-Tafseerul-Baatin since he holds that there is an apparent and a hidden meaning for every Aayah, so the outer meaning is for the people of Ta'weel]

The scholar Burhaanuddeen al-Baqqaa’ee said, explaining the beliefs of Ibn ‘Arabee at the start of his book, Tanbeebul-Ghabee:

“Firstly it must be known that his speech, i.e. that of Ibn ‘Arabee, revolves around unrestricted unity of allexistence, that there is nothing besides this world, and that the Deity is a composite whole which does not exist except within its parts.”

Ibn ‘Arabee held that all the pagans and idol-worshippers were upon the truth since Allaah is in his view everything. Therefore whoever worshipped an idol, or worshipped a stone, or a tree, or a human, or a star, then he has worshipped Allaah.

O brothers, if the Sabians were unbelievers because they worshipped the stars, and the Jews were unbelievers because they worshipped the calf, and the Christians were unbelievers because they worshipped ‘Eesaa, and the Quraysh were unbelievers before Islaam because they worshipped idols…then how can the one who calls to the worship of all these things not be an unbeliever? [See Hadhihi Hiyas-Soofiyyah (p.38)].

Ibn ‘Arabee even admits his belief that all religions are one and that his heart is ready to embrace every sect and religion.

As to what proceeds: The noble shaikh, al-Allaamah Saalih ibnu Fawzaan ibni Abdillaah al-Fawzaan was asked the following question:

Question:

I find some vagueness between Ibnu Arabee and Ibnul Arabee. I would hope that you would explain for us the difference between the two and their most well, known writings?

Answer:

The difference between the two is clear. Ibnu Arabee without the definite article [attached to the name Arabee] is the well known heretic who used to espouse Wahdatul Wujood and he was one of the extremist Soofees who were eventually lead to the issue of ilhaad, the statements of Wahdatul Wujood and that there is no difference between the Creator and the creation. And according to his aqeedah, all that exist is Allaah, the Most High.

As for Ibnul Arabee, with the definite article [attached to the name Arabee], then he is the well-known, lofty imaam, Aboo Bakr ibnul Arabee, al-Maalikee who had noble writings in the area of hadeeth and tafseer and a noble book, defending the Companions, which he called al-Awaasim minal Qawaasim.

He defended in that book, Islaam and the Companions of the Messenger of Allaah, sallallaahu alaihe wa alaa Aalihee wa Sahbihee wa sallam.

It is a noble book and he also has a book entitled Tafseeru Aayaatil Ahkaam, in two huge, volumes. He also has an explanation of the Sunan of [al-Imaam] at-Tirmidhee called Aaridatul Ahwadhee fee sharhit Tirmidhee.

All of these books are published and to be [easily] found and all the praise is due to Allaah.

Therefore, there is an obvious difference between these two men; one is an astray disbeliever, and that is none other than Ibnu Arabee, al-Haatimee, at-Taa’ee while [the other one] Ibnul Arabee is a noble, lofty imaam known for correctness, knowledge and fear of Allaah.

Dawud Adib the son of David C.White Sr.

Jazaakum Allaahu khayran. It should be noted that this is not absolute, as some of the ‘ulamaa’ do not go by this. Just as some say Ibn ‘Uthaymeen sometimes and Ibn al-’Uthaymeen sometimes, ‘Abbaas, al-’Abbaas, Ibn Qayyim, Ibn al-Qayyim, etc., they may say Ibn ‘Arabee and Ibn al-’Arabee for the same person. And Allaah knows best.

DO NOT BE DECEIVED BY THE PHYSICAL APPEARANCES OF THE IMMORAL WOMEN OF THIS WORLDLY LIFE!

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

Optimized Image
After Imaam Ibnul Qayyim (rahimahullaah) described the beauty and perfection of the women of Paradise so that one is drawn towards them, he warned against being deceived by the evil women of this worldly life—those who are deprived of every excellent trait.   They are neither perfect in their physical appearances nor do they possess good actions.
How can one be deceived by a woman who possesses ugly manners and is untrustworthy?! How can one be deceived by a woman who neither fulfils her obligations nor does she possess patience?! How can one be deceived by a woman who is neither contented nor is she obedient and humble, and her deeds are ugly?!  Rather she is a female shaytaan disguised in the image of a human, so she deceives the despicable and depraved people that desire her because they are similar to her and are ready to obey her.
As for the people of goodness and virtue, she neither wants nor desires them because there are no similarities between her and them.  She is deprived of everything that directs her towards good and prevents her from evil.  She neither possesses the correct way of life ordained by Allaah and a sound moral intellect nor does she possess good manners and fear of Allaah.  She does not possess natural beauty, rather her beauty is a falsified one that emanates from cosmetics.  And when she leaves that beautification and embellishment the defects on her becomes apparent and she is deprived of everything that makes a person desirous of her.   She is characterised with betrayal—neither grateful towards good companionship nor does she preserve and fulfil its rights.
Her beauty is a thin shell and underneath it are defects and ugly affairs.  Her beauty resembles a fake coin plated with gold or silver which one may consider to be a real gold or silver coin; but this counterfeit cannot be circulated amongst the money changers even though many people are deceived by it.

Ponder…

Ponder…

‘O Children of Adam! Let not Shaitân deceive you, as he got your parents  out of Paradise’
al-A’raf:27
Servant of Allah! Ponder the removal of your father, Adam, from Paradise, the abode of security, and his descent to the abode of disgrace and abasement. The reason for this was none other than the accursed shaytaan. Your Master has prohibited you from obeying him and ordered you to disobey him. Indeed in this obedience lies the displeasure of ar-Rahmaan and disobeying him necessitates residing in Paradise and the descent of divine pleasure.
Allaah, Glorified and Exalted said:

‘Shaitân (Satan) threatens you with poverty and orders you to immorality
al-Baqarah: 268
So whoever obeys him, he forsakes him, diverts him from true guidance an opens the doors to misguidance and ignominy in his heart.

A Warning Against the Spread of the Deen of the Rawafidh (Shia) – Shaykh Rabee

A Warning Against the Spread of the Deen of the Rawafidh (Shia) – Shaykh Rabee

A Warning Against the Spread of the Deen of the Rawafidh (Shia)

in Algeria and Other Muslim Lands

Compiled by The Eminent Shaykh, the Muhaddith, Rabee bin Haadee Umair al-Madkhalee
Translated by Abbas Abu Yahya

All praise belongs to Allaah, may Salaat and Salaam be upon the Messenger of Allaah, his Companions and all those who follow his way.

To proceed:

Indeed that which brings great sadness is that the destructive math-hab of the Rawafidh has been given scope and many opportunities to spread in the region of the Arab Muslim lands.  It has actually become intensely widespread and those behind its propagation are the Rulers of the Iranian Persian lands, Ayaat of Iran and the Mullahs who are the enemies of Islaam, of The Truth, of Tawheed and its people.  They exert themselves with everything that is precious and of value in disseminating this math-hab which is accompanied with harsh zeal and a frightening plot to seize all the Muslim lands.

They do this with their destructive math-hab which is established on:

- Making Takfeer (declaring to be non-Muslims) of the Companions of Muhammad -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam.

- Rejecting the Sunnah of Muhammad -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- because it has come via the truthful and faithful Companions of Muhammad -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam.

- Distorting the Qur’aan and applying texts regarding the Kuffaar and Munaafiqoon (hypocrites) to the Companions of Muhammad -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam.

-  Further applying texts, which mention the threat of the Hellfire to the Companions of Muhammad -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam, especially to Abu Bakr and Umar -Radi Allaahu anhuma.

-  Applying the Ayaat (verses) of praise and the promise of Allaah exclusively to themselves and the Family of the Prophet -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam.  However, Allaah has freed the family of the Prophet -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- from the extremist math-hab of the Rawafidh and their principles of disbelief which are founded upon this disbelief.

From their deviance is that they apply the Ayaat (verses) of the Tawheed of Allaah which indicate worshipping Him alone – such as the saying of Allaah:

<<And Allaah has said: Do not take for yourselves two deities. He is but one God>> [an-Nahl: 51] – to their Imaams!

How much have they distorted the texts of the Qur’aan? Whoever wishes to know the reality of their religion should read their fundamental sources such as ‘al-Kafi’ by Kullayni, Tafseer al-Qummi and Tafseer al-‘Ayaashi, which has even exceeded the Jews and the Christians in terms of distortion!

From what fills the heart with grief is that this deviant, destructive math-hab has begun to be disseminated in Algeria.  Indeed we have read and heard that a large number of these people have embraced the ‘Aqeedah of Rafdh (Shia).  A number of them study in the Rafidhi city called Qum, though there has been opposition to this from the government and from some of the scholars, however it has been weak.  Where is the required concern from them for Islaam and Tawheed?!

And where is the concern for the Qur’aan and the Sunnah?  Where is the concern for the Companions of Muhammad -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam?!

O you Algerians – government and the people – indeed your remaining silent on the spread of this movement and its math-hab will – and I swear by Allaah – have disastrous results in relation to your Deen, your worldly matters, your politics and your Hereafter when you meet your Lord because you remained silent about the greatest of evils and the greatest of dangers upon your Deen and your worldly matters.

I ask Allaah to awaken the senses of the Muslims and their intellects in order to face this destructive danger.  An imperative aspect of what they are facing is keeping away from their websites, which promote and spread evil and major deviancy.

A clarification of some of the Principles of the Rafidhah (Shia)

1. From their principles is making Takfeer of the Companions and to attack them.  This is a type of destruction of Islaam, which has never been known except to cause destruction.  This is why they try to convey this Takfeer in the best way they can.

2. From their principles is that Imamate is from the fundamentals of the Deen, which is extremism from them.  The fundamentals of the Deen were explained by the Messenger of Allaah -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- and Imaamate is not from them.

3. According to them, knowing the twelve Imaams is from the fundamentals of the Deen and whoever is ignorant of the twelve Imaams is regarded by them to be a Kaafir (disbeliever).

4. The Imaams are, in their view, infallible (protected from sinning) and are protected from any neglect or forgetfulness.  They favour them over the Prophets and Messengers –alayhim as-Salaam.

5. They believe that their Imaams know the Unseen and that they manage and control every single atom within the universe.  This is from the greatest acts of disbelief as they have made their Imaams associates with Allaah regarding the knowledge of the Unseen and the control of the universe.

6. They falsely claim that the Messenger of Allaah -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- recommended that Ali -Radi Allaahu anhu- be the Khaleefah.  They claim that the Companions illegally and forcefully took the Khilafah from him.  This claim is the greatest of lies and it is the foundation of their misguidance and their tyranny against the Companions, their Takfeer of them and their cursing them.

7. From their superstitions and stories is that they have a Mahdi from the Prophet’s -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- family whom they await and that he has been in a cave for more than 1200 years who they claim is the 12th Imaam.  This Imaam does not exist, this Mahdi has not even been created.  The Mahdi that the Messenger of Allaah -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- mentioned is true, however, he is not the one that the Rawafidh (Shia) claim is the Mahdi.  From their stories is that Musa bin Jafar (d. 183AH)- who the Rawafidh claim is one of their Imaams – said to a person during his time: ‘If you live then you will meet him.’  Since then, 1249 years have passed and they still have not met him.  This is proof that this was a slander and a lie against Musa.

8. From their fundamental principles is having Eemaan (faith) that a person is brought back to life after having died and that, according to their Deen, whoever does not believe this is a Kaafir.  Al-Aloosi said in ‘Mukhtasir at-Tuhfa al-Ithna Ashareeyah’ (pp200-201):

‘The Math-hab of Ahlus-Sunnah is that the dead do not return to the worldly life before the Day of Judgement.  All of the Imaamiyyah (Shia) sect and some of the other sects of the Rawafidh (Shia) say that some of the dead will return.

They claim that the Prophet -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- and the one that he bequeathed (meaning: Ali), the two generous ones (Hasan and Hussain) along with their enemies – by which they mean the three Khulafaa’, Mu’aawiyah, Yazeed, Haaroon, Ibn Ziyaad and their likes – and other Imaams and their people who were killed will all be brought back to life after the Mahdi appears and they (i.e. the Prophet -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam-, Ali, and Hasan and Hussain) will punish everyone that oppressed their Imaams and they will take revenge from them, before the arrival of the Dajjaal, then they will die awaiting resurrection on the Day of Judgement.’  May Allaah fight the Rawafidhah.

9. From the foundations of their beliefs is their claim against the Companions that they distorted the Qur’aan.  Allaah forbid that the Companions of the Messenger of Allaah -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- – may Allaah be pleased with them all- distorted even one word from the Book of Allaah.  Rather, those who distorted it are actually the Rawafidh.  How many times have they distorted the wordings of the Qur’aan and its meanings?  Most of their distortion concerns the Ayaat of the promises of Allaah and His warnings and Ayaat regarding the Kuffaar and Munaafiqoon, which they apply to the Companions of the Messenger of Allaah -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- whereas it is the Rawafidh who rightfully deserve that these Ayaat are applied to them.

10. From the greatest of their fundamentals is Tuqeeyyah (lying to cover up their falsehood).  They regard it to be nine tenths of their Deen and that whoever does not have Tuqeeyah has no Deen.  They ascribe this saying to Abu Jafar that he said: ‘Allaah -Azza wa Jall– insisted for us and you to have Tuqeeyah.’  They also say that he said: ‘Tuqeeyah is from my religion and the religion of my fathers and whoever does not have Tuqeeyah has no Eemaan.’ [See al-Kafi by Kulaani 2/217-218]

11. From their religion is to build structures over graves, especially the graves of their Imaams, and to perform Tawaaf around them and to seek aid from the inmates of the graves.  They give huge amounts of money to them and take oaths and sacrifices at the doors to these structures.  These are from the greatest types of Shirk.

12. From the important matters of their Deen is temporary marriage – which the Messenger of Allaah -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- only made a concession for when there was a need and it was a necessity.  However, this was later abrogated by Allaah on the tongue of the Messenger of Allaah -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam.  From the narrators of the prohibition of temporary marriage was Ali -Radi Allaahu anhu- himself.  The Shia made temporary marriage permissible and narrated so-called ‘narrations’ showing its virtue something which both the Sharia’ and the intellect reject. For example, their saying: ‘Whoever gratifies his pleasure with a believing woman then it is as though he visited the Ka’bah 70 times.’

They say: ‘Trustworthy narrators narrated from as-Saddiq – alayhis-salaam – saying, ‘Indeed temporary marriage is from my Deen and the Deen of my fathers.  Whoever acts upon it then he has raised our Deen, whoever rejects it then he has rejected our Deen and has believed in other than our Deen.’

Temporary marriage in this form, according to them, is from their greatest fundamentals such that if one were to leave it, it would be regarded as Kufr (disbelief).

There are some narrations from them regarding this, from them is this:

‘Whoever performs temporary marriage once, then his rank will be like the rank of al-Hussain – alayhis-salaam .  Whoever performs temporary marriage twice, then his rank will be like the rank of al-Hasan – alayhis-salaam .  Whoever performs temporary marriage three times, then his rank will be like the rank of Ali -Radi Allaahu anhu.  Whoever performs temporary marriage four times, then his rank is the like of my status.’

This statement of theirs ‘alayhis-salaam’ is from their expressions while, in reality, what should be said regarding the one who is a Companion is ‘-Radi Allaahu anhu-’ or ‘Rahimahullaah’ for a Taabi’ee (the follower of the Companions) and those after them.

This is a brief insight into the Deen of the Rawafidh although their deviancy and disbelief fills up volumes of books.

Conditions And Meaning Of The Shahadah

Conditions And Meaning Of The Shahadah

By Sheikh 'Abdul-'Azeez bin Baaz
Taken from his Majmoo' al-Fataawaa [vol. 1, pg. 231]
Produced by al-manhaj.com

It's meaning - There is none who has the right to be worshipped
except Allaah. It's pillars are:

1. The negation phrase – there is no deity worthy of worship (Laa
Ilaaha)
2. The confirmation phrase – except Allaah (IllaaAllaah)

The phrase: "there is no deity worthy of worship" negates all other
false objects of worship while the phrase "except Allaah" confirms
that there is only one true God worthy of worship who has no partners.

The conditions of the Shahaadah (testimony of Faith) are eight:

1. `Ilm (Knowledge): Knowledge of it's meaning - what is confirmed by
it and what is negated by it. As previously stated it was mentioned
that the meaning of: "There is none that has the right to be
worshipped except Allaah" is that all other objects of worship that
mankind set up as partners with Allaah are false.

2. Yaqeen (Certainty): Certainty of it's meaning, free from doubt or
suspicion. This means on must be upon certainty that none has the
right to be worshipped except Allaah.

3. Al-Ikhlaas (Sincerity): This means the sincerity the servant has
towards only his Lord, in all acts of worship. For example, if
anyone deviates from this sincerity to Allaah and directs it toward a
Prophet, a walee, an idol, a king, the jinn or any other false object
of worship, than certainly he is guilty of committing shirk
(polytheism) and has contradicted this condition of the Shahaadah
(testimony of Faith), which is Sincerity.

4, As-Sidq (Truthfulness): It's meaning is to speak the truth in
order to remove any traces of hypocrisy. This is the meaning of
Sidq. It also means to observe truthfulness with the tongue as well
as the heart. If sidq is only observed by the tongue and not by the
heart, then this condition of sidq (truthfulness) has not been met.

5. Al-Mahabbah (Love): It's meaning is to love Allaah. The
declaration of the Shahaadah requires that the person loves Allaah.
If someone declares his faith but does not love Allaah then he's at a
stage of kufr, where he doesn't enter into Islam, as was the way of
the hypocrites. The proof for this is in the saying of Allaah:

"Say (O Muhammad, to mankind) if you really love Allaah then follow
me. Allaah will love you and forgive you of your sins. And Allaah
is oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." [Surah Aali `Imran: 31]

6. Al-Inqiyaad (Compliance): One must comply with the obligations of
the Shahaadah. This means to carry out all the obligatory duties
with faith and certainty that these obligations are the rights your
Lord has over you. If one fails to worship Allaah and to adhere to
his Legislation, showing arrogance and animosity towards it, then he
is not from the believers, as was the case with Iblees (the Devil)
and others of his nature.

7. Al-Qubool (Acceptance): One must accept the Shahaadah and it's
meaning. This means accepting all its conditions with sincerity and
worshiping only Allaah. It also entails leaving off that which is
worshipped besides Allaah as equals, whilst being firm on this and
pleased with it.

8. Rejection of anything worshipped besides Allaah: The meaning of
this condition is that one must stay clear of and distance himself
from all acts of worship other than the worship of Allaah. And he
must recognize, with certainty that all acts of worship, which are
not done solely for Allaah, are false and to be rejected. Allaah
says in the Qur'aan:

"Whoever disbelieves in the Taghoot (false deities and systems) and
believes in Allaah, then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold
that will never break. And Allaah is the All=Seeing, All-Knowing."
[Surah Al-Baqarah: 256]

The Meeting Between Yahyah az-Zimmiy and Shaytaan

The Meeting Between Yahyah az-Zimmiy and Shaytaan

Abridged: The Meeting Between Yahyah az-Zimmiy and ShaytaanDerived Benefit by Shaykh Rabee’ ibn Haadee ‘Umayr al-Madkhalee
Abdillaah Al-Qazweeniy also narrated to us, saying: Yahyaa Ibnu Abdaka Al-Qazweeniy said: I heard Yahyaa Ibn Yoosuf Az-Zummiy saying: Once I was taking a midday nap in one of the sandstone inns, then suddenly a powerful creature (of  a strange and frightening appearance) entered upon me, so I said: ”Who are you?”  He said: ”You not scared O father of Zakariyyah!” I said: ”Yes, (i.e. I am not scared), who are you”, and I stood up ready to fight him.  So he said:  “I am Abu Murra (i.e. shaytaan.”)  So I said: Laa HayyaakAllaah– ‘’May Allaah not give you life- (i.e. may He not maintain your life upon good).” So he said: ”Had I known that you were in this house I would not have entered and I would have resided in another house. This has been my place of residence since I came to Khurasaan.”  I said: ”Where did you come from?” He said: ”From Iraq.”  So I said:”What did you do in Iraq?” He said: “I have left a vicegerent in it.”  I said: ”Who is he?”  He said:”Bishr Al-Marreesiy.”   I said: ”What is he calling to (i.e. propagating)?”  He said: ”He is  propagating) that the Qur’aan is created, and I came to Khurasaan and also left a vicegerent in it.“ I said: ”What do you say about the Qur’aan?”  He said: “And even though I am an accursed devil, I say that the Qur’aan is the speech of Allaah and it is not created.”…
Shaykh Rabee’ said: “… This story was narrated from Yahyah Ibn Yoosuf  (Abu Zakariyyah) with an authentic chain of transmission.  shaytaan came to him whilst he was in a house that resembles a hotel, where strangers and those arriving at a place take as their place of residence.  Shaytaan entered upon him and said: “You not scared of me?”  So Abu Zakariyyah said to him: “No, I am not scared of you, and who are you?”  So shaytaan said: “I am Abu Murra; i.e. I am shaytaan—the big shaytaan–May the curse of Allaah be upon him.” Yahyah was ready to fight him, so shaytaan said: ‘’I am Abu Murra.’’ Yahyah said to him: ”May Allaah not give you life (i.e. may He not maintain your life upon goodness.)
Yahyah was firm and strong at heart in challenging shaytaan, because a person may not be able to face the Jinn.  There are many people who die out of fear when they see the Jinn.
However, some people are able to face the Jinn and defeat them and amongst them was Umar Ibnul Khattaab (radiyallaahu-anhu), because he did not walk a path except that shaytaan took a different path.
And Abu Hurairah  (radiyallaahu-anhu) was from such people because he captured shaytaan three times whilst shaytaan was stealing from the food the Messenger(sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) asked Abu Hurairah to guard.
A strong believer neither fears the Jinn nor the people. He does not fear anyone except Allaah, especially the type of fear that is tantamount to shirk—we seek Allaah’s protection from this.  Some people have a fear that is tantamount to shirk—fear of the dead and the devils. We seek Allaah’s protection from calamity. However, Yahyah-Abu Zakariyyah did not fear, rather he was strong at heart and strong in facing shaytaan
So shaytaan said to him: “Had I known that you were in this house, I would not have entered.”  This proves that shaytaan does not have knowledge of the unseen and the Jinn do not know the unseen, just as Allaah stated in the story of Sulaymaan (alayhis-salaam :(“Then when We decreed death for him [Sulaiman (Solomon)], nothing informed them (jinns) of his death except a little worm of the earth, which kept (slowly) gnawing away at his stick, so when he fell down, the jinns saw clearly that if they had known the unseen, they would not have stayed in the humiliating torment.” [Soorah Sabah: Ayah: 14]
Allaah said: “Shall I inform you (O people!) upon whom the Shayatin (devils) descend? They descend on every lying (one who tells lies), sinful person.  Who gives ear (to the devils and they pour what they may have heard of the unseen from the angels), and most of them are liars. [Soorah Shu-araa Ayah: 221-223]
The devils steal from the news of the heavens by snatching a statement and descend with it; then they relate it to the soothsayer or the magician and add a hundred lies to it.  This person who receives this from the devils is a shaytaan, a soothsayer and a magician. But whether he is a soothsayer, a shaytaan or a magician, they all receive slander and lies from shaytaan.  They are liars because whoever narrates a narration whilst knowing that it is a lie, then indeed he is one of the liars.
So Yahyah asked shaytaan where he came from and he said that he was from Iraq.  The trials and tribulations flared up in Iraaq.  So Yahyah said to him: “What did you do in Iraq?” He said: “I left a vicegerent in it.“  Yahyah said to him: “Who is he?“  He said: “Bishr Al-Marreesiy.”  Therefore, the callers to innovation and misguidance are the vicegerents of shaytaan and the scholars are the inheritors of the Prophets and their vicegerents Inshaa-Allaah.
The callers to innovation, falsehood, disbelief and misguidance are vicegerents of Iblees and his armies.  Therefore be cautious of being amongst the army of shaytaan or amongst his vicegerents.
Then Yahyah asked shaytaan about what Bishr Al-Marreesiy was calling to? He said that he was saying that the Qur’aan is created.  This alone is a great achievement for shaytaan, because it brought about strife, differing and such and such.
However, there are innovations greater than it– and protection is sought from Allaah—being propagated by many people and you will find that it is the hundredth one amongst his/their innovations.  These people are more severe and they cause more strife in being the vicegerents of shaytaan than Bishr Al-Marreesiy.  And I (i.e. Shaikh Rabee) have said to some of those who defend some of the contemporary people of innovations:  What is your resentment against Bishr al-Marreesiy and what led both the people of Sunnah and the people of innovation in this Ummah to drop him? He said: ‘’Because he said that the Qur’aan is created.’’  I said: Such and such joins him in this affair and he has other big innovations that are greater than this, so how is it that you do not tremble.  Watch out against blindness O brothers!  We seek Allaah’s protection from blindness and misguidance.  We seek Allaah’s protection from calamity, especially when these people attribute themselves to the salafi manhaj with their calamities.  The distress will be very heavy and the calamity will be greater if the supporters of the big innovations make claims and ascribe themselves to the salafi Manhaj.  By Allaah this is a distress upon the Ummah, for many have harmed themselves and harmed the stupid and ignorant people.  We ask Allaah for well-being!
Shaytaan then said: ‘’then I came to khurasaan…..’’: This is the east, as it has been stated that the horn of shaytaan will rise from there.  The horn of shaytaan rose in Iraq and its surrounding areas—the innovations of the Raafidah (Shia), the Khawaarij, the Mutazilah, the Jahmiyyah and other than them.  And also in Iraq arose the innovation that the Qur’aan is created.  Shaytaan raised his horn from this east and we ask Allaah (The Blessed and Most High) to prevent Islaam and the Islamic nation from its evil.
So Yahyah said to shaytaan: “What do you say about the Qur’aan?” That is:  If you (shaytaan) have this zeal and a vicegerent for this innovation, then what is your view about it?  He (shaytaan) said: “And even though I am an accursed devil, I say that the Qur’aan is the speech of Allaah and it is not created.’’ Shaytaan laughs at the people and ruins them, Allaah said: “He only invites his Hizb(followers) that they may become the dwellers of the blazing Fire.” We seek Allaah’s protection (from that).
Alright, some of the callers to Islaam would say to you that he does not believe in such and such.  For example, it is said to him: “What do you say about wahdatul-wujood (i.e. oneness of Being—the belief of kufr which means that everything that is seen is Allah or a manifestation of Allah?”   Alright, he says that he does not believe in wahdatul wujood, but he calls to it!  He is a shaytaan and he is more of a filth that those who fall to this innovation.
They say to you: such-and-such does not utter the innovation of wahdatul wujood, yet he is the utterer and author of it. Was it a slip of the tongue and the pen; however he praises the people of wahdatul wujood!?  If he does not believe it, then he is worse than them and this is amongst the plots of shaytaan, for he (shaytaan) does not believe that the Qur’aan is created yet he calls to it and is zealous about it.  For example: A (person) calls to socialism, Judaism or Christianity and he praises these creeds whilst not believing in them! Paul called to Christianity whilst not believing in it and he was more of a disbeliever amongst them because he does not believe that Eesaa is the son of Allaah and that he is the third of the three or that he is Allaah, yet he fabricated these beliefs; therefore he is more of a disbeliever than the Christians.  This is the same as the affair of the one who calls to innovation—he calls to an innovation that is tantamount to disbelief or an innovation that is not tantamount to disbelief, then he is worse than the one who believes in it but does not call to it.”
