Benefit: Angels Do Not Enter a House
in Which There Is a Dog or an Image
The Prophet, may Allāh raise his rank and grant him peace, stated: «Angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog or an image.»1
Ibn Taymīyyah (d. AH 728) commented:
If dogs and pictures prevent the created angels from entering a home, how then would the knowledge and love of Allāh, the sweetness of His remembrance, and comfort with His nearness, penetrate a heart already fraught with bestial desires and their images?!2
